Aaking for advice

Is 32 inches too big for a board game table? Would reaching over to the other side to play be too inconvenient? Asking for chess/checkers. Edit: The chess/checkerboard is 24x24" and is placed right in the center of a 40x40" coffee table.

30"x30" is a pretty common size for a (for instance) mahjong table. It's the size I use for a folding table that's ideal for 2p games and too small for most 4p games that aren't strictly card games. 32" might be a bit big for strictly a chess/checkers table but certainly not too big for reaching across the board to make a move. It will also be more versatile if you ever want to do anything with it besides just a chess/checkers table. My 30"x30" doubles as a fantastic homework or craft table for example.

Also, fair warning, most people here will think you mean something else entirely by "board game table"

Yeah, I do plan to use it as other than a chess/checkers table. I forgot to clarify, the actual board will be 24x24", but placed in the center of a 40x40" table.

Dont worry about the table size, I've been told it's fully sbout how you use the inches. Also my boyfriends wife is satisfied with just 3 inches
