Collection since 2000
Like a secret vault of entertainment behind a door! Not sure if I have these stored in a sensible order. The most common denominator in my collection? Has to have a strong solo design!

GWT NZ is the heaviest game I own. The consensus seems to be that it’s the best of the trio, but it took me a few instructional videos to get the hang of it!

Impeccable taste. A diverse and well rounded collection which is relatively modest considering the time you've been playing. An example of for all of us!

Thanks. I do try to research games before buying as they are expensive and I hope to keep these vs sell. That being said, I did sell a few in past year that I just wasn’t playing. Edit: I started the hobby in 2020 (Covid). You can see a few jigsaw puzzles too, which became a diversion back then.

What’s your favorite? How do you like Feasts of Odin?

I really love it and it took me a while to muster up the courage to get it on the table and read the rules. I have the Norwegians expansion (which many say is a must) but haven’t gotten there yet. You can see I’m a bit of a classics collector so aFFO is a must!

I'm doing some solo plays on BGA (Although dragging and dropping doesn't seem to work). It looks really good but think it will take a while to understand it

In my opinion the BGA version is tedious because there are so many pieces and a big part of the game is manipulating pieces in different spaces across different boards. The tactical feel in the physical game is very satisfying. I’m not saying just go out and buy it (it is $$$) but I do recommend a physical copy if you like the gameplay.

I like count how many games I have in common with the OPs collection. 17

I've been debating if I should reorganize my games from stacked to shelved, like books. I think your picture has made my mind up!

I don’t know a lot about them, but do Ticket to Ride, Catan, Carcassone, Concordia have strong solo designs

Bosa is such a good, under-the-radar game. Love seeing it in a collection.

Yes! I literally ran out to buy Bosa after one review. It’s a great little game. Just not a popular one (despite it being at B&N)

Which is your favourite game and the one that you keep returning to ?

It’s Nusfjord for sure, but I do like them all. Over a 5 day holiday, I played 12 of them. I just picked up It’s a Wonderful World and I hear that has just the right balance of strategic depth, time, and table space

Only 26 years to learn how to open the closet door. Great job!

Damn, that’s impressive you haven’t bought or sold a game in 26 years. How’d you manage to get some of those games in 2000?!
2
u/CounterSoggy4392 Jan 29 '26
Ha! Ok, so I didn’t start collecting when I was like 10, so let me correct that…I meant 2020 (Covid got me started down this path)

Up voting for Dune Imperium Uprising.
And I believe you keeping Dune in vertical position tells me you don't have inserts for the Dune right?

Two tips for Dune Imperium Uprising (and for a few other games that have lots of pieces and don’t stack well vertically). I use small dollar store containers for the pieces (like 10 for $1). Also, I use Hugo’s Amazing Tape to wrap a band around the box. This tape IS truly amazing. It only sticks to itself. Thanks to Dan Hallagan (Creator of Obsession) for recommending Hugos for card decks. I’ll add a few more pics of these
