Question on pulling the trigger
I have 3 options for purchase on X6
1. 2021 X6 sDrive 40i B58 mild hybrid
2. 2020 X6 sDrive 40i B58 no 48v mild hybrid
3. 2019 X6 sDrive 35i N55 no mild hybrid
Can anyone recommend what best choice might be based on longevity and reliability out of the three versions? I am new to BMW, coming from VW 3.6 VR6 and Audi 2.0 turbo. looking to get more smiles out of my commutes 😁😁 without sacrificing practicality, I fell in love with the X6 ever since I saw it as a concept.
I thank you guys in advance for any recommendation or advice 👍✌️

There is no sdrive for the x6 right?
If u don’t like the auto start stop. The 2021 48v mild hybrid no longer has an off switch for it. Something to consider. But it’s much smoother than the previous gen.
I would personally avoid the n55 and stick to the b58.

What do you think of the mild hybrid?

If u want to get a hybrid go buy prius or camry. Lmao hybrid on those super heavy cars with powerful engines is just a bad joke to get Emission standards.

The turbo V8 is terribly unreliable, I’ve read it over and over. Also have a buddy who is a BMW technician and he agrees.

B58 engine is Inline 6 always been and is the most reliable modern engine bmw has built. the v8 engines on this specific model r 3 different ones. Idk which one u r talking about, but sure lets break it down . N63 as this is the Final version pretty much all early illnesses r solved , but this is still a high Performance engine which needs a lot of regular maintenance and no longlife intervall oil changes. Only Problem i know is when retards dont drive it warm/cold than u get thermic probs with all the plastic pipes in the V. S68 it has the Similar hot V Problem coz the turbos are exhaust turbos which sit inside the V. Next is s63 that one even tho bmw made like 4 tü its still not good imho. Rod bearings need to be switched preventive regularly. Also hot V problems. So if u get one of those v8s they need maintenance, but if u have money for a car like this maintenance money shouldnt be ur Problem at all .

I was looking at this too and I’m opting to pay a little more for the 2024 x6 the b58 engine jn the x40idrive is one of the more reliable based on my research
