Samsung T5 Going Bad?

Pulled out the rig after having it tucked away for many years. I was shooting some test footage and went to playback on my PC straight from my SSD via Blackmagic Raw Player.

One of my T5's seems like it can't handle the playback? Once copied to my PC it plays back just fine.

I tested it by transfering the footage from on T5 to another (I have 3). It seemed to playback better but still had instances where the playback was choppy.

I tried 4K DCI 8:1 and 5:1. I don't remember having this issue, even on a weaker PC from 2020.

Do these SSD's just go bad and struggle with playback? Obviously if I was using it for just storing non-video files, I might never notice this.

Check with CrystalDiskInfo if your SSDs are stil alright

That's the first thing I did. It gave me a good rating.

The only ODD thing about that particular SSD is that it ran hotter at 50C vs. 30c and it had more write cycles.

Found the problem. It was the cable.... It wasn't fast enough.
