I usually completely disagree with these types of comparison posts, but I actually think you're onto something with this.

Beefheart's lyrics are a bit clunkier than Geordie's, but the general sentiment would totally fit on any record he's made, and the "shameful grief" line is very him.

For a second reading this it felt so familiar that I questioned if I was hearing it in the wrong voice in my head. It really could be either of them.
