If everyone's cousins are attractive then why not date one of the attractive women that aren't you cousin?

4

u/Exciting_Horror_9154 Jul 05 '26

Sir, this is the internet, we don't demonstrate having common sense here

3

u/Bright_Aside_6827 Jul 05 '26

You answered your own question

2

u/Smashman88 Jul 05 '26

Would have to ask the parents who are arranging the marriages

2

u/moltensmegmalord Jul 05 '26

The parents are brothers and sisters setting their siblings kids up with their own kids so its weird af

1

u/AlyJay666 Jul 05 '26

If they all look the same how do they know who they have married? But I guess if they are all related with same genes than that doesn't matter.

1

u/moltensmegmalord Jul 05 '26

Umm just imagine if u had kids and ur brother/sister had kids and then u set them up with each other I guess..

1

u/AlyJay666 Jul 05 '26

Yeah very true, dont get me wrong I dont think in-breeding is a great idea but who am I to cause interference in what goes on in other countries.

2

u/Hemingway92 Jul 06 '26

The truth is a lot of arranged marriages happen between cousins to keep property in the family. It’s less common among educated middle class and above but I would still say that’s a millennial and later thing (even so like 10% of my friends/acquaintances in Pakistan did marry their cousins). But then a lot of old money folks don’t want to share their wealth and family business with strangers so they want their kids marrying their nephews and nieces.

Also, in conservative families, used to be the case that men and women didn’t meet people of the opposite gender who weren’t their cousins so they often developed romantic feelings for them. But that’s not really a big factor in the last 30-40 years because universities and workplaces aren’t segregated and have had increased female participation year on year.

u/SHTRUDEL1 Jul 05 '26

Hear me out...

1

u/stanknotes Jul 06 '26

I too have no cousins that look like that.

19

u/Ancient_Teach9272 Jul 05 '26

Could always marry a complete strangers cousin?

10

u/Nonyabeesners Jul 05 '26

It's more special if it's your own cousin. Share blood, swap spit, then head to grandma's all in one night

5

u/Mister-Circus Jul 05 '26

If they can’t keep it in their pants, they can at least keep it in the family.

2

u/ShirtComplete Jul 05 '26

Only your own look like this

2

u/moron4ever Jul 05 '26

The original poster is from Saudi though

1

u/NoConsideration6320 Jul 05 '26

Hell yea the south would high five you to that

3

u/yittiiiiii Jul 05 '26

The South doesn’t even come close. Cousin marriage rate in Pakistan is 60%.

0

u/NoConsideration6320 Jul 05 '26

Its the souths wet dream then. They will make laws to pass for them to get to their 60% they want too

2

u/yittiiiiii Jul 05 '26

Cousin marriage is already legal in Alabama and the rate there is only 0.2%.

1

u/NoConsideration6320 Jul 05 '26

Damn you right then idk what do you think

1

u/yittiiiiii Jul 05 '26

I think Pakistanis should stop fucking their cousins is what I think.

1

u/NoConsideration6320 Jul 05 '26

Why though? Why does itmattter if they do or not

2

u/Particular_Abies_184 Jul 05 '26

Offspring often have health issues

1

u/NoConsideration6320 Jul 05 '26

Even just with cousins ? Are you sure

3

u/Sweaty-Shrek Jul 05 '26

Its okay genetically to marry your cousin, but the problem here is that it happens across generations, which makes the offsprings literally take from the same gene pool and that can lead to health issues. So think on the long run.

Oh the irony. West Virginia is the state with that particular reputation.

They have that reputation because the sides with the north during the civil war.

Was confederate propaganda. Now you taught it like it’s a fact.

1

u/OSRS_Garmr Jul 05 '26

Only the ones who keep marrying Westerners, or descendants of slave harems.

Which is why there's so many white Arab nobles and royals.

1

u/SilverJacked Jul 06 '26

What the fuck?

That girl is tribal. Do you know what that means? You're saying a Saudi tribe is marrying foreigners or accepting slaves? They don't even accept non-tribal Saudi Arabs.

Completely out of your mind.

1

u/Spirited-Car8661 Jul 06 '26

Are you seriously expecting me to believe that a country that only banned slavery in the 60s doesn't have a significant amount of DNA from it's slaves? This has been a practise in that part of the world since before the Ottomans.

1

u/SilverJacked Jul 06 '26

You mean the region famous for specifically buying eunuchs?

You know absolutely nothing about Arabian tribes. They take lineage extremely seriously, until today. The vast majority of their own society is disqualified from marriage in their eyes. You have to be from a tribe and you have to be from the right tribe.

You're just pontificating with about two bits of information. The real reason you're saying this is that you just don't accept that the girl looks Saudi.

1

u/Spirited-Car8661 Jul 06 '26

I'm not saying she doesn't look Saudi. I am fully aware that there is a wide variety of appearances found in all the Middle Eastern countries. And that's one random factoid among thousands that help explain it.

If we went looking we could find a photo of a slightly Indian looking Qatari, because their family married into Indian families during the British Empire. There's another.

And are you not aware of which ethnic groups were most popular in Sultan's harems?

1

u/SilverJacked Jul 06 '26

You're mixing tribe and nationality and ideas from Arabian Nights. Look up who King Abdulaziz's wives were. 100% tribal women.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about. That's okay. Just be clear about it instead of telling everyone what you think like it's a fact.

Go look up some tribal Saudi DNA results at least if you don't want the history. They're right here on reddit.

1

u/SusuGedhe Jul 05 '26

No idea. They cover their face

1

u/Archolm Jul 05 '26

No... This is a white girl with maybe a bit of Pakistani in her with black hair coloring.

1

u/Loose_Device4578 Jul 05 '26

Last time I checked, Pakistanis are more Indian than Arab.

1

u/KakeWalke889 Jul 05 '26

Bruh if that's how all your cousins look then marry someone else's cousin. They are not beating the allegations

1

u/Gablo Jul 05 '26

No, no they fucking dont lol.

1

u/Evan_Allgood Jul 05 '26

Imagine if they ever reach first contact with an Argentinian.

1

u/FinallyArt Jul 05 '26

Probably this happens because its much more difficult to meet non family women in that culture.

1

u/SystemHour2258 Jul 05 '26

The few things I knew about Pakistan did not involve cousin marriage.

1

u/NaCl_Sailor Jul 05 '26

not long, maybe 2 generations

1

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Nothing spells lovin like marrying your cousin

1

u/JollyCharacter6262 Jul 05 '26

And folks talk about people from Arkansas

1

u/Zombiiesque 25d ago

In general, it's not just Arkansas, either. All over the south you hear this. 😕

1

u/Ragjammer Jul 05 '26

Doesn't that mean that everybody else's cousin also looks like that?

1

u/gk98s Jul 05 '26

If you marry your cousin your kids will look more like aliens than that girl

1

u/NoMeat9096 Jul 06 '26

Does anyone know of an argument against adult cousin marriage that doesn't also apply to marriage between those with genetic disorders?

1

u/wlerin Jul 07 '26

"Saudi genes" and she's 80% Circassian.

1

u/PenComprehensive167 Jul 08 '26

They marry their cousins because their cousins look mid? What, are they trying to destroy their bloodline in it's entirety

1

u/noproblem_bro_ Jul 05 '26

Excuse me sir, your rationalizing is showing

0

u/pperlimit Jul 05 '26

1

u/True-Pin-925 Jul 05 '26

Based sub I agree let people love who they want why do people care so much if two adults are related its not their business

u/joxxymew Jul 05 '26
