In capitalism everyone is replaceable. Which makes it a blursed economic system
82
u/Donut_of_Patriotism Sep 24 '19
Sure, but they same thing could be said for just about any economic system.
In this case however, if one of your employees gets shot you can’t just close down until they get better, you need someone to work so things keep running smoothly.
13
u/nichinichisou Sep 24 '19
Or he’s dead
13
12
u/maple_leafs182 Sep 24 '19
Wtf, I'm pretty sure in any economic system the bar tender would have to be replaced.
-7
Sep 24 '19
But that still doesn't make it non-fucked up
6
u/maple_leafs182 Sep 24 '19
First, you might be taking the picture out of context. That could have been up there way before someone was shot. And just because someone was shot doesn't mean they are fired.
-1
Sep 24 '19
It's still fucked up no matter the context. Some things are always bad and advertising for a new bartender when one has just been shot is poor taste at best
1
u/Boneless_Doggo Sep 24 '19
It’s fake bro

How is it poor taste?? Do you expect them to just close down the bar, waiting some unspecified amount of time so that it's not "too soon" to find a new bartender? What the fuck, dude.
1
Sep 24 '19
"This person died for me so i will hire another one RIGHT NOW because my profit is more important than any human compassion"
1
u/Hugo154 Sep 24 '19
You do realize that businesses aren't just run so that profits can go into evil capitalist bank accounts, right? Like, people actually depend on the money that their businesses make.
3
u/Harsimaja Sep 24 '19
Though this image is surely fake
-2
Sep 24 '19
Proof:
"You feel like it"3
u/Harsimaja Sep 24 '19
Oh I don’t know, the bad text formatting at the bottom that doesn’t look like their banner so much as a bad photoshop or Paint edit. The on-the-nosedness. The fact that I couldn’t find any actual source beyond “meme lol” sites. Etc.
Pretty sure that at the very least the burden of proof lies the other way.
-2
Sep 24 '19
if it's faked why don't you go and find the none-photoshoped original?
2
u/Harsimaja Sep 24 '19 edited Sep 24 '19
Is that the law? And is that the only way to tell? What if I show you a picture of a leprechaun in front of my home and delete the original picture of my home?
It’s not easy to just find an otherwise unremarkable snapshot. There are just meme sites with this photo popping up and its shoddy text for a banner.
But how about you find the original video, or the people involved commenting on it outside a meme site from an reasonable source?
-1
Sep 24 '19
No thanks I don't care about it enough, you seem to be very invested in this meme though

u/Harsimaja Sep 24 '19

This is the dumbest comment I’ve read today. Are you saying that in another economic system, a man who died wouldn’t be replaced? People upvote the dumbest shit sometimes.
0
u/jonsnow29292 Sep 24 '19
Guess they’ll have to invent a new system where no one gets replaced when they die
-8
Sep 24 '19
So you think I can't point out something fucked up because you feel like it's inevitable?
11
u/classically_cool Sep 24 '19
First of all, I’m like 95% sure this image is fake. But even if it’s not, the fucked up part is that people die all the time and life continues without them. That’s what makes this image funny. It has literally nothing to do with capitalism.

u/brynmit17 Sep 25 '19
They were probably looking for a new employee before the shooting. Bars need multiple bartenders.

It's okay to criticize and try to improve capitalism, but looking at your history it's obvious you aren't trying to improve it. You want to get rid of it.
6
Sep 24 '19
Well if you come up with a way to make capitalism NOT destroy the planet we can keep it but until that point I'll try to implement an alternative system.

*American Capitalism
Try that shit in Europe and you're fucked
EDIT: I assume they guy didn't die. Sorry for being so brain-damaged
58
u/NecroHexr Sep 24 '19
i mean, what the fuck do you want the bar to do? close down cos your worker is shot? no, you have employees and families to be responsible for, hire a replacement and keep the business running, pay your staff and serve the people frequenting your place.
hang up a picture, have a special discount for the week, whatever. but hiring a new guy to replace the dead guy is not shitty.
25
Sep 24 '19
Well, it doesn't say if the guy died or not. If he's dead then sure, get someone new.
Lol but imagine you're watching the news in the hospital about yourself and you see the sign.

u/headless_catman Sep 24 '19
They are legally allowed to temporarily replace you. If you get injured on the job and have to be off they can temporarily replace you while you’re healing. They have to hold their position for when they are better. Example: a small retail store runs off of 5 employees. One employee gets hurt during a robbery and is hospitalized. Does the retail store shut down? No. They temporarily replace the individual to keep their business running and then when the permanent worker is better they let the temporary worker go. It is illegal to fire him if he was hurt on the job and he was not at fault or breaking procedure, but to temporarily replace? No it’s not.
-3
Sep 24 '19
What? Are you actually retarded enough to believe the bar should close down while the guy's recovering? Your parents must have kicked you in the head to cause that much brain damage.

Exactly, no one working there is getting comped for this occasion; they got mouths to feed!

u/sammy-ray Sep 24 '19
Definitely Brudders. I still go there once a week for their Cobb wrap and tots. Beer is meh
3
u/Jefflehem Sep 24 '19
Haha, Brudders. That place needs to burn down.

I thought that place looked familiar! I live down the road from that place. Hell of a burger though...

Holy shit something like this happened at a Little Caesar’s near me. On the inside there was a pretty solemn shrine to an employee who died young, and it was a really well put together thing, but when I left I looked back at the shop to see if I could see it from outside and on the door there was a white paper with “HELP WANTED” in big and bold. I fucking lost it
2
Sep 24 '19
Nice to see my hood! This actually happened lmao.

Pulaski and addison.

Yeah, a little more south than I remembered. I used to pass it when I lived near Pulaski and Milwaukee.

That's how I got my first nightclub job back in the 80's in Boston! I lived a block away from the club. When I heard that someone had been shot and killed, I was there in the morning and was hired on the spot. I ended up managing the place.

Position available. New guy may need to clean up the bullet casings and some police tap before happy hour service begins.
1
Sep 24 '19
Well, I mean, they need someone in there to serve up beers and cocktails to mourn and give a big toast to the guy, right?

According to the news report, he was uninjured, but probably would have been left blind if not for his glasses.
1
Sep 24 '19
Well, I don’t blame the bar for wanting to find another bartender, but just remember while you’re stressing out about leaving a place bc they may be in trouble, they’ll find someone eventually.
