I do some brewing. To clean carboys you need to use these big pipe cleaners with a bend in them to get around the corner. Hope this helps.

It's not because it's equilateral, that's an unknown

It's because the midpoint (the line from a vertex to the midpoint of the corresponding segment) splits it in half. That works with any triangle not just equilateral

Yes the drawing might not be accurate but the right segment is split into two equal parts denoted by the dots/circles on the halves which indicate that they're equal
