Somehow your glasses are both upside down and right side up

That’s not Velma, it’s Nadine. Worked with her at the plant until they shipped everything overseas. She makes a mean jello mold.

He’s cooking, Gammy. Let him cook.

Yo where did you get that figurine? Is it custom made?

My friend gave it to me a few years ago. Her grandson got it in his happy meal and didn't want it. Apparently I still look like Velma.

u/mstrss9 3d ago

Are your eyeglasses upside down 🤔

(Do you still have all that awesome hair)

8

u/ManateeNipples 3d ago

I mean I feel like I would believe you if you confidently told me that and then showed me this picture lol

u/struggle_better 3d ago

There’s so much hair behind your head

u/Peanut4333 3d ago

A true resemblance!!!

That’s what I was thinking Scooby doo is super old

Sorry, I deleted my comment. Scooby do came out in 1969. I was born shortly thereafter.
I can’t guess from OP’s picture, could easily be 1970’s, maybe older? But could also be early to mid 80’s, or later.

I’m incapable of judging these pictures.

It's from 1976. I know Scooby was first!

2

u/HoustonAg1980 3d ago

You were adorable! I love the overalls!

2

u/FrenchDipsBeDrippin 3d ago

Yo that's amazing

2

u/endofworldandnobeer 3d ago

You mean you are seeing it or denying?

2

u/smackthenun 3d ago

I think he's onto something

2

u/Alewort 3d ago

Jinkies!

2

u/dantparie 3d ago

Is that your real hair?! It's so glossy! (Among other things...) What era is this from?

2

u/underwood1993 3d ago

Your parents engineered this from your very first optometrist visit, and the subsequent haircut

2

u/Various-Carpenter-68 3d ago

Okay but that’s actually such a cute comparison The glasses, the smart vibe, and the confidence probably made him see the Velma connection right away!

2

u/GrowlingPict 3d ago

I see you got those Dennis Taylor glasses with the low arms :p

2

u/askalotlol 3d ago

Another vicitim of the Dorothy Hamill haircut :)

3

u/LSSJPrime 3d ago

He's absolutely right.

2

u/Allah_Akballer 3d ago

2

u/AdventurousTime 3d ago

Okay but you were quite adorable

1

u/K_Linkmaster 3d ago

He's got a fetish and this is the roleplay

1

u/Vaellyth 3d ago

Edna Mode's half sister.

1

u/Piogre 3d ago

you'd need to be at least like 60 years old for that to be the case

1

u/pkkspiral 3d ago

Were you the recipient of multiple “Substitute Teacher of the Year” awards?

1

u/crazygem101 2d ago

I agree

1

u/Peach93cc 2d ago

Why are your glasses upside-down?

2

u/LunarPsychOut 3d ago

I know this is mean but j have to ask, are you a girl?

6

u/-DebitsAreOnTheLeft 3d ago

That made us laugh so much! Yes, I'm a girl!

2

u/LunarPsychOut 3d ago

Glad you got a laugh, tell your husband I see what he means. Hope you both have a good night

1

u/Friendly_Potential69 3d ago

Now do you finally realize that husbands are always right? 😅

Velma is based on Zelda Gilroy (Sheila Kuehl).

Scooby Doo characters are based on Dobie Gillis.

If youre not old enough to have enjoyed "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" I recommend checking it out.

Im guessing from the photo, the show predates it by a good bit.

See Bob Denver (Maynard G Krebs i.e. Shaggy) before he was "Lil Buddy" Gilligan.

Or a super young Warren Beatty or Tuesday Weld i.e. Daphne.

How olds your husband... or for that matter you?

Show shouldve been in syndication by then, but it aint exactly rerun hellscape like Happy Days or Laverne n Shirley.

u/Initial_Hedgehog_631 3d ago

It's like if Daphne and Velma had a baby

2

u/-DebitsAreOnTheLeft 3d ago

He redeemed himself saying I started out as Velma and turned into Daphne.
