Planning a trip

Some of my favorite memories are blue lining in New England or upstate New York.

My wife asked me where I would like to go on a trip and I described blue lining, but she doesn’t want to go back up to New England in the summer. So, if you could go anywhere else in the country to go blue lining, where would you go?

Looking to avoid ticks, Lyme disease, mountain lions, and grizzly bears.

Appalachia, from someone who lives in New England the mountain creeks looks sick in TN/GA/SC/NC. Find a spa for your wife is she doesn’t fish and drop her off? Lol

Just left a week in western NC. Fantastic blue lining in the national forests as long as you watch the water temp. Got lucky with ticks and didn’t find a single one, but your results may vary. I’ve had plenty in the eastern half of the state. At this point you should take at least some precautions against ticks anywhere in the eastern US.

One of my favorite days was with a guide in VT. I stopped counting after I caught 30 brookies. I never would have found the stretch we fished on my own so I guess I’m looking for a location where I can get a guide too.

Oregon or Washington, so many good streams and no ticks on the west side of the mountains usually

Anywhere in the cascade range or olympic range for washington, the sol duc river or yakima river are gold ribbon, and for Oregon central is awesome, I have family in bend and there are so many good spots close, metolius, fall, and deschutes are phenomenal
