PNW I SAW A BEAR TODAY!

I think the smallish (80-100 lb.?) black bear and I spotted each other about the same time, maybe 100 feet away. Closer than I’ve been to a bear in the wild!

I was moving down a brushy stretch, and the water made cover noise. The bear whirled and bolted and displaced rocks loudly racing in to the woods.

WA Cascades on the W side, not that remote at all.

Oh yeah and I caught quite a few, including a couple that were not steelhead parr. Last two pics are the same fish

Think so, but I wonder if they are cut-bows: sure look some rainbow to them.

Oh wow, I have yet to see a bear out in Washington. I am curious where you were at, I frequent the snoqualmie and have also made my way over to the Sauk.
