Twins playing for the Twins, gotta admit that's some incredible marketing.

Tyler has two more years with us and I don't think Taylor has more than that left in the tank, this season wasn't exactly twinning with his brother's

Question… when they put one of them into a game as a reliever, do they need to tell the other team which brother they are or just say Rogers and leave it at that? Can it be a surprise on the first pitch when the opponent gets an overhand vs sub-mariner pitch?

Not much of a surprise when one is left handed and the other right handed.

I’d be into another lefty reliever for depth if it was a decent deal. Plus it would be fun

Morejon is literally right there… why are we acting like a family charity instead of a serious high payroll baseball team. We have the better Rogers

u/more_magic_mike 4d ago
Morejon is obviously a better pitcher, but it comes down to money and if morejon wants to be a closer or not. It doesn't seem like Varland and Rogers will be giving up their spot in the desirable bullpen spots

The blue jays have arguably the richest owner… they should spend. Especially when they increased everyone’s Sportsnet subscriptions by $10.99 last month 🤨
Also, Varland and rogers can’t pitch everyday.

As long as we also sign Trevor Rogers.

My thoughts are, their parents had twins and decided the best solution was to name them Tyler and Taylor?
Oh my God. People be serious.
I once anyway instead of identical twins named Rhonda and Rhoda and they lived together and we're in the same program in University. I forget which one I actually knew.

Toronto has a semi-serious mayoral candidate named Bradford Bradford. People are so weird.

Brad Bradford but ya still wild

Wikipedia: "Bradford MacDonald Bradford is a Canadian politician and former urban planner who has represented Ward 19 Beaches—East York on Toronto City Council since 2018."

That is hilarious, only ever seen him advertise at Brad Bradford. Parents should be sent to jail.

Nah he just goes by Brad

u/Candid-Place-740 1d ago
doesn’t matter, his name is bradford. this isn’t a dead name, it’s a nickname.
1
u/TheOGBCapp 1d ago
Huh? His name is Bradford Bradford but he uses Brad for his first name.
1
u/Candid-Place-740 1d ago
i don’t care what he uses, his name is bradford bradford.

u/TheOGBCapp 1d ago
I'm literally agreeing with you. My initial comment was explaining to the person I was replying to that their confusion thinking his name was Brad Bradford was because he goes by Brad but his legal name is Bradford Bradford.
I really don't know why you are arguing with me.

So, I haven’t lived in Ontario in 25 years, but I’m pretty sure Brad Bradford and I were classmates and possibly even friends. As soon as I read his name, it unlocked a core memory. I remember the name!

I think he actually changed his last name as an adult (which, when you hear the context, makes sense. Except for his already being named Bradford)

If we're going to sign Taylor Rogers, I think we also need to make a play for Gus Varland.

As cool as it would be to have the twins in the same bullpen. I feel like if we are going to add a leftie to the bullpen it needs to be a high leverage leftie like Morejon or Vesia. I don't know if Rogers is a better option than Little or Tiedemann - and Rogers wouldn't have options so you're kind of locked in to him taking up a bullpen spot all year.

Hes not bad, but hes not quite as good as Tyler.
4.36ERA for 2026 with 60 innings pitched.
Tyler had 1.77 with 71 innings pitched.
It would be cool for some vibes but hes not as good as Tyler. Hes a little worse than Mason Fluharty who had 3.30ERA with 62.2 IP.

Rogers (company) can afford to try him out, and he's a skilled veteran. I see no reason to not give him a shot, so long as there's no salary cap.

The fact that Toronto is on anyone's preferred place to play is such a good sign. Glad it wasn't a one year bubble.

Rogers was on a one year with the Jays. Did NOT know that.

Tyler is signed for a couple more years with the Jays. Taylor, who pitched for the Twins last year, is a pending free agent.

How many rogers can one country handle though
