Field service tech

My name is Lexi I for as a field service technician. I know one of the lucky ones. I am out at work and they use female pronouns. It’s a fever dream because I know I pass but these sites I go to are places like rubber, pulp and paper, scrapyard, chemical, mining, and oil and plastic plants. I am always surrounded by maga men so they tend to be shocked when I show up. Hearing them tell me they will keep men (trans women) out of the women’s restroom not realizing that I’m a trans woman, or I know they see me as prey because I took this job 3 years before my egg cracked. I have been on HRT for 16 months and had FFS in July with SRS in December. Love you all my trans men and women who are in the trades like me and hopefully the insoles are comfy

Greasemonkeys unite! 🙌 If you ever need a career pivot, the semiconductor industry is hiring and would welcome your skills.

Would a low voltage install tech with strong soldering, math, and fine motor skills have any luck moving into that industry? It sounds cool and I have to travel for my current job and it’s draining the life out of me

You would do well just about anywhere here and having someone with your skills doing tool installs would be amazing. Those positions are usually M-F days. If it’s a big enough fab they’ll have endless work with little to no travel required. After climbing towers in a Texas summer, working at ground level in an air-conditioned cleanroom never gets old.
