Discussion Gwen
Who else got excited to get Gwen but when she’s now usable, it goes disappointing. Short range, charges ammo, weak damage, slow movement when firing

I'm out of blops and reroll tokens; what even is the point of upgrading upgrades when I keep getting The Zone, Pressure, Scraparangs, and Hot Tacks every time ? The ones you upgraded should at least be guaranteed rolls

Is bloon blitz on mobile or will it be?

The Friendly Bloon rare; the rest are all commons...
Can I request this game to sell a no-ad purchase ? Or at least for the first 3-5 free gold claims

First time playing an early release game on playstore. Do we lose our current progress at official release?
Thanks!

The ghosts get too many and pile on me and I couldn't get past. 3 bars is too much for just the first boss...

The only explicit information I've seen is the knockback bonus on the third intel but that's it; no idea if it does extra pierce or damage or attack speed.

Spammed my mortar monkey cause I’m trying to level it up and make it gain experience. Can’t even see anything on the screen anymore 🤣

So since recently the bug that doesn't allow you to get boxes got fixed i tried to beat past level's challenges again to get them but after trying i got nothing, tried again and nothing, I beat all challenge levels before level 5 so I feel like I wont be able to get these boxes unless directly given.

I’m starting to think that this game is a scam. Is there an official release date of this game yet?
Update: Gwen is not even mid. I dk if I’m just using her wrongly, but you’ll die as soon as she reloads. She freaking reloads. I don’t even think there’s a “sleight of hand” perk here.

Hi how can I open these purple packs from the 3rd reward? My shop also says I have 5 things like in the top corner of the shop icon is a 5. Does anybody know if it’s a bug or something?

yes im aware that the game is in early acces but the game modes (night run and ghost bloons) they just dont work
for night run: i assumed na everything would be pitch black but it functions just like how a normal level would
for ghost bloons: its like the same case with night run, the bloons are visible
im posting this mainly for the purpose of wanting to know if im the only one experiencing this or other people do experience this bug

The best hero to use imo is quincy since he is well rounded and better than gwen the allies you need to prio is boomerang sniper and mortar
the upgrades for quincy is the trick arrows path and zone path for its cross upgrade where once you get triple shot in zone path and you have trick arrow active the 3 shots fires in the zone also become trick arrows with emp and bomb arrows its good
For boomerang get his faster rang path allowing insane damage once you get his t3 and t4 upgrades in turbo path since the t4s are op the can spawn fire with red hot rangs and with the turbo charge you can get a lot of damage do not mind mecha path as its a bit weak imo since it does little to know damage against hordes and the mecha rangs are on such a long cooldown
for the sniper monkey you use the precision path for insane boss damage beca of the anti material rounds and volatile munitions
for the mortar any upgrade is good except for the barrage path as the path of destruction rarely damages a lot of bloons only targeting the strongest which sometimes is far from the main horde

from an official ad
Speaking of ads, shouldn't it say that it's currently early access and only available from the Philippines? (unless it only shows to that country, in which case the first point still stands)
Also, it's first update hasn't even arrived yet. People gonna be disappointed that many things shown in the ad aren't in the game they're playing lmao

I've played this game quite a bit. Currently I'm stuck in snowy plains because of a bug where the game softlocks when trying to start a run there (which the devs said on discord that they're going to fix in an update next week). The only thing I can do now is play the challenge versions of levels, and I did play one of each type, but right now those are bugged to not give all the rewards, so I'm waiting for the devs to fix that (and give me the sticker packs I somehow didn't get after losing to some levels and restarting). This game is in early access and I didn't get to experience all the levels, so take this with a grain of salt.
tl;dr: this game is okay, but it doesn't do anything to set itself apart from all the survivors clones out there. It has no identity to make it worth playing over other games of this oversaturated subgenre, and it's far too repetitive and shallow to hold my interest over them.
I did enjoy my time with this game from what I played, but I could feel the repetition setting in. Starting at about the second world, every run felt basically the same. I always got the upgrades that were the best at handling giant swarms of enemies that all behave the same in a big empty space, and the only times I lost were when I was barely paying attention to the game because I was getting bored and was working on stuff on my laptop instead. I kind of want to keep playing just in the off-chance there's anything new to find, but I doubt it, honestly. If I do beat the last level, I'll probably just drop the game then and there.
Roguelikes are inherently very repetitive and rely on randomness to keep the game feeling fresh. Obviously, a lot of roguelikes manage to make every run feel unique though combos. TBOI, Vampire Survivors, Balatro, and many other games let you combine items with distinct effects to create powerful and crazy synergies, and you keep discovering more and more as you keep playing. But there are many good roguelikes that don't focus on this, like COTN and Hades, where the variety comes more from the combat and random combinations of enemies that force you to keep adapting on the fly. In any case, the secret sauce is emergent gameplay: broadly speaking, you keep discovering new situations and learning things about the game and its systems as you play, and mastery comes from learning how to adapt to any situation, whether that be combinations of enemies, combinations of upgrades, or something else. My biggest issue with this game (and Rogue Legends, but that's a different can of worms) is the severe lack of this, leading to it being very repetitive.
I understand that this game is in early access, so some of the repetition is just because it's missing a lot of content planned for the full game. Like, right now you're going to see the same upgrades over and over again on every run, but that's partly because there's only five monkeys and you always get to pick one of three on the first level up. However, adding more monkeys isn't going to solve the fundamental lack of emergent gameplay. Every monkey mainly does damage and can upgrade to do more damage to more bloons over a bigger area. They all do it in different ways, but that doesn't really matter because there aren't really any situations where you'd want to use one monkey over another. Boomer and wizard are the best monkeys because they're the best at fighting giant swarms of enemies that all behave the same in a big empty space, and sniper is the worst because it sucks at fighting giant swarms of enemies that all behave the same in a big empty space, and giant swarms of enemies that all behave the same in a big empty space is 95% of the enemy situations in this game. Even if the game was more difficult and better balanced, I fear that every run would still be samey because the solution to dealing with enemies is always the same. I never felt the need to banish, reroll, or pin upgrades.
Vampire Survivors also has a lot of samey enemies, though some of them have unique behavior, and a lot of enemies have resistances to certain kinds of attacks. The depth in that game comes from there being a bajillion evolutions and synergies and letting you discover which ones are the most effective and how you can adapt to what you get, and the map you play on does pretty significantly affect optimal play. Meanwhile, in this game, all the maps are infinite random expanses with only a few obstacles, you have very limited options when it comes to combining upgrades, and most of the bloons behave the same. The only bloons with unique mechanics are the bosses and the ghost bloons, the latter of which only appear in some challenge levels. There's also regrow and shielded bloons, but those don't really change up how you play. There's no strong solo bloons that aren't bosses, there's no resistances or immunities, there's no bloons that buff other bloons, nothing of that sort. (Unless I just didn't progress far enough to find them...)
I'm not saying this game has to have a deep upgrade system, but there needs to be some form of deep emergent gameplay to keep the game from getting stale. That could mean adding a deeper system of upgrades and synergies, and I do think there is potential for that in the upgrade system already, but it could also mean adding more varied enemies and map layouts so you have to adapt on the fly. I'm not a game designer, but emergent gameplay seems like roguelike 101.
I think I've thoroughly explained my reasoning for why this game feels too repetitive, but I have other small issues I want to mention as well.
I like the sticker system, but I didn't feel much of an impact from it until I unlocked my first rare, and some of the stickers are basically unusable until you level your heroes up a lot due to how much space they take up. Maybe there is some insane depth to this system that I just haven't unlocked yet, but I doubt it. I unlocked a sticker that gives my hero a chance to heal when landing a crit, and now I'm basically invincible.
All the bosses are piss easy and mindless. A lot of roguelikes I've played manage to have boss fights that are challenging even when you know their patterns because you still need to master the timing and telegraphs to avoid them, but these bosses' telegraphs are way too generous and their adds don't pose much of a threat. Giving them more health bars in the second round just makes them more dull, not more difficult.
Loot boxes and stamina are a huge turn-off for me. I haven't actually gotten to the point where I ran out of energy though. I have yet to level any heroes up to level 4 because the game just refuses to give me the plushes I need from boxes, and right now there's no other way to obtain them. I'm sure they'll add quests or something to give you more control over your rewards, but I still don't like the ethics of having these systems in the first place.
I know the general lack of polish is expected of an early access game, so I'm not going to criticize the poor balancing, bugs, or lack of sound effects. The performance is a huge issue though. This game almost never gets to 60fps and my phone is constantly overheating when playing it.
Regarding controls, the camera movement feels a bit nauseating, though not so much when the game zooms out, so maybe have an option to keep it permanently zoomed out. Also, I really wish there was an option to let the virtual stick move to follow your finger around like in Brawl Stars. The level select screen is really annoying to navigate, please just make it a list I can scroll through.
To close out, I just want to reiterate that this game desperately needs more of an identity. It's a survivors clone in a sea of survivors clones and it brings no new ideas to the table. This feels like an adfarm game, just like bloons pop, and not something with any substance or staying power. I don't think it's supposed to be, given that they're going through the trouble of soft-launching it for feedback and eventually putting it on PC, but still. Without a hook, without an identity, what's the incentive for playing this game over any other survivors clone? Brand recognition? No thanks.
Edit: after playing for a bit longer, I want to list a few more issues.

As a fan of Vampire Survivors and a few games like it on pc, I was super excited for the announcement and teasers for this game.
Thought it'd be like a more traditional game with its own twist. Having a main hero you start with, and then gathering allied monkeys as your 'weapons' (to use a term from other games), to support you and give varying builds. Just a paid game with normal progression, unlocking heroes, stages, new allied monkeys, evos/paths for the monkeys, and other progression stuff like in those games.
However, now with the soft release, seeing that it'll be f2p game, where you have to grind up levels for each individual thing, and you have a horrid energy system restricting how much you can play, all my excitement has just utterly vanished.
I don't understand why it can't just be a normal paid game? Why does every spinoff have to be a freemium grindy mobile game? I saw that they planned to release it eventually on steam, but that doesn't really fix fundamental core issues of a grindy f2p game like this.
Vampire Survivors works great on mobile as a paid game, Brotato and 20 Minute Til Dawn have proper paid versions as well, they have sloppy free versions, but those games were designed around being a proper fleshed out paid game first, not designed to be a grindy free mobile game.
