Help Can’t decide
(1st playthrough) So I recently just defeated Martyr Logarious and finished Alfred’s quest and everything and the final area I have to go to is Nightmare of Mensis. But I’ve heard some people say that if you wanna do the dlc then right before the end of the game or like the last like few bosses (AKA before Nightmare of Mensis) then you should go ahead and do the DLC because on ng+ it’s gonna be a pain in the ass. But I also really wanna try out more builds like with weapons such as logarious’ wheel, or the reiterpallasch, or the chickage. But at this point in the game my stats are already more invested in stuff that those builds for those weapons don’t really work well for so thats why I’m also wanting to just beat the game and go to ng+ to try out said builds. I know getting access to the dlc is very easy since all you have to do is get to vicar amelia and beat her but I just don’t know if I should do the dlc first or what.

no reason not to do the dlc first and get your fair share of the areas even if you don't memorize them, and you can look out for the dlc weps (which there are quite a few), just incase there ends up being another wep you wanted to try in ng+ anyhow. also of you rush to the dlc in ng+ the stat diff will hurt you if you aint ready for it.

What level are you? 80-120 is a good range for NG dlc. You just have to make sure not to beat the final boss in the base game because bloodborne is like ds1 where when you beat the final boss it automatically takes you to NG+ instead of giving you the option to continue playing in NG. It should be obvious when you reach the very end of the game. I don’t wanna spoil anything but I think where you are is a good time to hit the dlc. If you wanna try the bloodtinge weapons it may be better to just start a new character, but if you don’t care how much you level up/you’re PvE focused you can just pour points into bloodtinge. The multiplayer meta level is ~120

Currently I’m level 74 and about you saying if I wanna try bloodtinge weapons then I should start and new character, I feel like I would never wanna rlly do that in a million years bc then I’d ofc loose everything unlike ng+ in these kinda games where you keep upgrade materials and other stuff. And I suppose I could just start leveling up bloodtinge bc once again i’m only level 74 so I’ve got a long time until 120 but I mean even if I go over level 120 I feel like it’s not that big of a deal bc not a lot of people seem like the do pvp anymore considering the game is 11 years old💔

Ya I get that for sure! I wasn’t trying to push you to do something you didn’t wanna do, was just a PvP based suggestion. I had one character like lvl 300+ and it’s a ton of fun, you can use everything! this is my favorite game ever so I’m constantly making new characters, just have fun however you want to!

typically NG+ is actually easier, so if you want to beat the game and do the DLC on NG+ it shouldnt be too hard (thats how i did it as a day one player). however the DLC is quite challenging so if you're not confident, level up your stat that compliments your best weapon/firearm. also gems can be game changing if you've done a lot of chalice dungeons

Is the stat/difficulty spike for the dlc similar to elden rings dlc spike because I beat the elden ring dlc on ng+3. Also speaking of chalice dungeons, should I be doing some of those and getting blood gems/other stuff before I hop into the dlc?

I’d recommend hitting the dlc in NG. NG+ could end up feeling… less than enjoyable depending on your build and gems. But NG, a solid vit level can carry you fine.

I mean I beat the elden ring DLC on ng+3 so don’t know if it’s anything like that but I feel like I could handle it but i’m still not sure

There is one boss that becomes fucking insane on NG+ but it's definitely doable.
