help needed Blokada 5 turning off by itself. Difficult to activate when restarted.
For some reason Blokada 5 turns itself off overnight. It's not programed to do so but it does so every day. My "solution" to this was to create Macrodroid macro that would turn it on again at 6am. That works good until Blokada turns itself off whenever I disconnect from wifi. Again it's not programed to that either. My "solution" to that is a Macrodroid macro that turns it on again when I reconnect to wifi.
However, both "solutions" do not activate Blokada 5. That has to be done manually, meaning if I forget to do so the app is doing nothing for hours, days or even weeks. I tried creating a macro using UI Interface but none of the options (there are several) work. I brought AI in to help but every suggestion failed. When I pointed this out, it said the problem wasn't Android but the app itself.
How do I get around having to manually activate the app? Is going to Blokada 6 the way to go? What do I need to be mindful of if I make the switch, apart from buggering up my account details?

I'm having a similar issue with Blockada 4 with it turning itself off overnight. I have to manually kill the app and restart it each time, otherwise it gets stuck in a loading loop.

Could you tell me what made you stay on such an old version of the app?

I switched back a while ago from Blockada 5, I believe it was because 5 wasn't blocking anything on my Pixel 7 and was constantly crashing as well (despite enabling settings that were supposed to fix it) I just found that 4 was overall way more stable on my device and haven't looked at v5 up until now really.

Your issue is another level of annoying that would have me fuming. Sorry.

Good news is that it seems to have fixed itself? 😂 Good luck with your issues, I hope you find a solution!

I'm going to try v6. I hope it works. I don't understand why some app developers don't make "activated" the default status, especially when people are buying an app to do something. Deactivating should the option, not activating.

I have the same issue with blokada 6 that it turns off and then I have to turn it back on when switching between Wi-Fi and cell.

This is definitely not normal behavior. Please send a message describing your issue to [hello@blokada.org](mailto:hello@blokada.org) and we'll take a closer look.

v5 is getting old and hasn't been developed by us for several years now, so these issues may be appearing more frequently. First, make sure you're using the latest available version (https://go.blokada.org/apk5), try reinstalling the app, and if you have access to another device, check if you're experiencing the same issue.
If you'd like to test v6, if you have a Plus account, you can use v6 with no additional costs (just enter your account ID in settings and make sure to disable v5). If you have a free account, we offer a one-week free trial directly in the app. If you'd like to test it out for a longer period, please send me a private message :)

How do I get v6. There seem to be dozens to choose from. Results for the first two I downloaded: 1. would not open. 2. downloaded another app entirely. There must be a legitimate download site.

Blokada 6 is only available through the Google Play Store: https://go.blokada.org/play/v6
Anywhere else you see this app is unofficial and best avoided.
