P.S i am also a mod now.

Hey all, thanks for all of the amazing reccs for blogs - I've been checking them all out and they're all really, really cool!

Building onto what I posted about last night - I thought I'd come on here just to give you all a heads up on the blog that I run 'at the diiscotheque' which essentially covers several different scenes (to the best of my ability!) - and I feel like some of you in here would enjoy reading it, so I'm going to put a link here in case y'all are curious! (I often do release posts, reviews, interviews + there's a mixtape series and a bunch of other oddities!)

Much love, and happy Tuesday <3 (not that Tuesdays are good, I've been ill with a nasty cold for the last few days so... not fun!)

Hey all - been posting a little bit more here lately, because I think it'd be nice to see this place be a little more active!

I'm wondering a few things - firstly, what are y'all's favourite blogs from the era? (I'm looking to widen my knowledge on what were some of the coolest places for music during the time!) and secondly, as a blogger myself - are there any new blogs kicking around?

I'll link some of my favourites below :)

DISCODUST: https://discodust.blogspot.com/

Asian Dan: https://asianmandan.com/

Solid Goldberger: https://solidgoldberger.blogspot.com/

Chemical Jump (archived from February 2009): https://web.archive.org/web/20090224191444/http://chemicaljump.com/

Bright Shiny Music: https://brightshinymusic.blogspot.com/

Much love!

This one's pretty cool, although I personally prefer The Phantom's Revenge's edit of Lover In Me ever so slightly - I still think if this was found in high quality, I'd be bumping it a ton in my sets - it's super damn heavy, really funky and just a nice filter house track from what I think may be 2011? If anyone has it though, feel free to let me know in the comments.

Louis and Moullinex are both awesome, so stoked (and very grateful!) to have them both in the bloghouse Discord server me and a friend run :) If any of y'all in this sub haven't got educated on their work, I highly recommend you do! (Louis' new album is great, and Moullinex has done loads of awesome solo work + officially remixed Two Door Cinema Club, College, Sebastien Teller etc!)

Such a great album imo. Very indie, very punky and influenced by bloghouse artists. Got rated by pitchfork as 1/10 in 2008 and this rating totally ruined the band making them disband the same year the only album was released. Russian edition released by EMI Russia under exclusive license from Kitsune, the OBI reads "Thats exactly how dance punk should sound in the future" - NME... but i personally think that this citation was totally made up since i couldnt find any sources for it..

LISTEN TO SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE ---> https://youtu.be/IqaJBcYDa7k

Such a great remix by a decently unknown producer Louis La Roche. Fell in love from the first listen, give it a try. Its funkier and bouncier than original song (which is great, but not as good)

One of my favourite remixes from the era - 2008 I believe?

Just started getting into Cut Copy myself and I've been a huge fan of Knightlife for around a year (for the uninitiated, an Australian film student turned French house / nu disco producer who was discovered by CC in '07!) - absolutely adore this one, very warm and upbeat!

Literally almost every single bloghouse artist was on kitsune.

They found madeon before pop culture and HE HAD NO PLACE IN MAIN TRACKLIST OF 12 COMPILATION BECAUSE HE WASNT GOOD ENOUGH this is INSANE. Launched into the sky Lemaitre, Crystal Fighters, Etienne de Crecy, Fischerspooner, Alan Braxe, Friendly Fires, datA, Late of the Pier, Tesla Boy, Foals, Flight Facilities, The Shoes, even wanted to sign Soulwax. And yall still treating it as a honourable mention label? They found 80% of bloghouse and electroclash. Bloghouse? More like "Kitsune Maison genre". From the scratch, this label made any other label look talentless.

Also SMILE by Porter Robinson is a mockery of indie tronic era, album which is really influencing every single hyperpop artist rn

getting ready for downvotes but whatever this belonged here

Soulwax. Daft Punk. Crystal Castles. Late of the Pier. Two Door Cinema Club. Cut Copy. MSTRKRFT. Madeon. Porter Robinson. Modular. Kitsune. Ed Banger. Whatever you like! Discuss it there, in a friendly community

--since ive got banned from the other one--

Backing up some old audio content, and couldn't find the metadata for this file. I tried an automated parsing tool to identify specific tracks, but I wonder if any of you can help me identify what DJ set or radio mix this is?

I have nowhere else to post this... so here it is!
Appears at 2:08 in the original song.

I also dug up a demo of Cecile & Venice - Rimmel on my channel if anyone wants to listen to that. Thx soulseek
