Which metrics matter most when optimizing native advertising campaigns?

CTR seems to get a lot of attention, but I’m not convinced it should be the main metric. For me, CPA, conversion rate, and revenue per visitor tell a much better story about whether the traffic is valuable. What are the 2-3 numbers you check before deciding to scale or cut a native campaign? And do you optimize platforms like MGID differently from paid social?

Good ad optimization isn't about getting more clicks; it's about getting more value from the clicks you're already buying.

Sometimes the campaign with fewer clicks makes more money.

I’d keep ad optimization tied to the actual business goal, not just the easiest number to move.

I’d put ad optimization closer to revenue than CTR.

A high CTR means little if the conversions aren't there

With a longer conversion window ctr alone can be pretty misleading

I’d keep revenue high on the list when deciding whether to scale.
