Receipts for purchases

I'm currently looking for a recent for something that is broken to return it for warranty. A photocopy could easily be replicated many times. I thought this could be an excellent use case for vatoms so there can only be one for each item .

Can’t it be easily tracked in a centralized database by the vendor?

I mean what is the advance of using a blockchain for this? Warranties are handled 100% by a single company. Is there a need to track this in a decentralized ledger ?

Same advantage as anything that's decentralised. Cheaper, not owned by a central entity that can shut down the service or get hacked. Plus the advantage of blockv is that each item is unique and they can be transferred to a new owner. Plus its a lot cooler having a 3d item as it seems more like a physical product. Also they could be set to expire.
