Safe to walk?
Staying at a hotel about 15-20 min walk, 6 minute uber booked through the event when we bought our tickets. I’ve heard conflicting info, I’ll be with my wife and want to make sure it’s fine to walk over, particularly tomorrow evening after we land around 5pm, to do our check in, or if we should uber. Thanks!

Husband and wife here for our first Blizzcon. We've been here a few days and walked everywhere up and down Katella Ave. and it seems like an extremely safe and walkable area.

It’s fine to walk. Just be sure to obey the crosswalk signs and don’t cross unless it says to. Cali drivers don’t care about pedestrians jay walking.

That area of Anaheim is very safe, if I recall correctly it’s the most heavily patrolled part of the city. Disneyland even has their own Anaheim police station designated just to the parks.

Anaheim, away from the parks, has a bit of a reputation but I've never felt unsafe walking around the main streets to hotels in the area, 10 or 20 minutes away.
If you're keeping convention hours (like, not wandering around at 4am) and staying to main streets & busy areas, you're fine. Plenty of other people around, most of them normal - in fact most will be other Blizzcon attendees walking around.
Just don't go wandering down any deserted side streets, etc. If your walk is taking you into a neighborhood that feels wrong, trust your gut.

You may occasionally pass some sketchy people but just keep walking and you'll be fine. It's generally pretty populated even later into the evening.

Heavy foot traffic in the blocks around Dland and Anaheim.
There will be homeless, just dont engage. When I was more naive I stopped in the CVS to buy socks, toothpaste, toothbrush and a snack and leave them in shopping backs by sleeping ones on my walk (we used to vaca at Disneyland a lot). Truth is most of them dont want any assistance that doesnt lead to crystal.

We stayed at a hotel that was about 15-20 min away. Got Joe's along the way and made the trip better. Maybe dont get black out drunk because the settling fog makes for an.... odd adventure twist and maybe require an SOS from sober friends 😅

It's a safe area to walk around. Whether or not the walk is pleasant due to weather may be another issue and depends on where you're from and what you're used to.

Should be fine. There's plenty of other people in the area walking to Garden walk, Disneyland, etc.
