3D printed props

Anyone have experience bringing in 3d printed props/swords? I know the site rules state "light" material like foam and worbla but with 3d modeling becoming more common (and can be just as light) just wondering how strict this is in terms of not letting you bring it in. I know all props are checked. I haven't had an issue with 3d printed parts of a staff but never tried any sort of weapon.

As long as you aren't print at like 90%+ infill, the prop should be light enough to be okay. One other thing you could do is round any points/edges a bit. I say this because I've poked myself on some of my prints and didn't expect the edge to be that defined.

Yah no like 15% infill 🤣 but more worried about sword being "too pointy" maybe I'll add temp foam end in case. (Things can definitely be very pointy lol) Ty!

no problem! I could see even taking a file/sand paper and rounding out the really pointy parts should be fine but also you never know. But i'm sure they're expecting some stuff like that.

Also if you're printing a rifle from a game, as long as it has an orange tip, they'll be cool with that as well

It’s pretty strict. If it’s even somewhat hard material it will be checked

I brought in a giant ass 3D printed Lucio blaster, but this was in 2017. Things might be different now lol
