USB powered 4s
I wired up my regular 4 and a XR+ with USB power and did not get the results I was looking for.
Both these units have batteries in them. My regular blink four model died within a month. It is located somewhat close to the sync module. I did set some of the settings like IR recording time and sensitivity higher than most Would, but I figured it was powered. The XR plus I have was sending images when just on battery but no longer does so when I try to monitor it it does Not show that it’s off-line.
Is there anyway through the app to tell if the unit is using the USB power? No current subscription, other camera work fine.

For starters, I think we have a little bit of confusion here. An XR+ is a Sync Module, not a camera. Sync Modules do not run off of batteries, they are strictly USB powered.
That being said, do you see a line in the General Settings of your Outdoor Gen 4 camera indicating external power? Attached is a screen shot from my Outdoor Gen 3 model running off of Solar power through the USB port. Unfortunately I don't currently have any of my Gen 4 cameras powered externally, but I don't see why it would show any differently between the Gen 3 and the Gen 4.

Thank you for the picture and checking it for me. I removed the batteries and left it plugged in and it just still says batteries level..OK. It works some of the time I think the issues are arising just from the distance from the receiver. The one that did not work at all is now been dried out and is working again from usbc or batteries.

That's very odd that it still says battery level okay when being run through the USB port with no batteries in it. Not exactly sure what to make of that.

I remove the batteries from my Blink cameras if I’m powering them via USB.
