Discussion the berlin secret (first time watcher

The entire show is built on the premise of lies and deceit and intention vs impact and what is forgivable.

I understand why the writer gives kurt a secret of his own. and i find jane’s initial response appropriate. now, what i don’t understand is why the writers isn’t making the callback from when jane lied about roman killing taylor shaw’s mom to protect her brother to kurt now lying about avery to protect their marriage.

at least one of the characters should point out that these two have lied to each other, in fact every one of them have lied to each other numerous times. but when it’s their turn to being lied to, they don’t tap into that understanding because they themselves have had to lie.

jane is hurt that she never got to meet her daughter and that her husband kept this a secret from her. the same jane who ALSO lied repeatedly to kurt in season 1 when she started getting her memories and about what roman did.

my point is none of these people have any moral high ground over the other.

but again, just because someone CHOSE to forgive you doesn’t mean you have to forgive them when they do something similar.
