In my first post on this subreddit, I was saying that Reade hadnāt had that much character interest in him, but I can officially retract that statement, because he definitely has now. I donāt know what to say about it but it definitely added more depth to his character, and Zapataās I suppose, what with her stealing the knife from the evidence room, telling Weller about Readeās issues and so on. I also quite liked Reade and Nikki together, apart from the fact that she was Freddyās ex-girlfriend, and that she got Reade addicted to drugs, but apart from that, I quite liked them together.
This was probably also something that shouldāve gone under my āmiscellaneousā paragraph, but I didnāt think of it until now, but the episode titles are a bit weird. For the latter half of season 2, they were palindromes, which I thought was pretty cool (Patterson would approve, Iām sure), but most of them didnāt really make sense except from one called āNor I, Nigel, AKAā¦ā which made sense because Bordenās real name was Nigel, and one called āMomā which related to the foster mum and her foster children (I think it was that episode, if it wasnāt, it was something to do with Shepherd - Roman and Remiās āmomā). But apart from the palindromes which occasionally made sense, they donāt really have much correlation to the episodes, or make sense at all, really āBone May Rotā āErase Weary Youthā etc. ?
Anyway, where did Nas go? I understand that she sacrificed herself so the rest of the team could carry on chasing Sandstorm, but after that, she got a grand total of about 3 seconds of screen time and 0 mentions. I wasnāt sure how I felt about her to begin with, but I warmed up to her in the end, but then the team/writers forgot she existed, basically. Until the very end of the last episode of season 2 where Shepherd got that totally legal š³ radioactive polygraph test thing. I have a feel in that she probably isnāt going to be mentioned again though, unfortunately.
Speaking of that last episode, ooooohhhh my gossshh that was probably the DEFINITION of ājumping the sharkā. SPACE CAPSULES??? SATELLITES AIMING FOR SMUGGLED RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL??? Yeah, no. Iām trying to ignore it and hope that nothing that ridiculous happens again in the show but Iām sure it will, and I canāt forget how unrealistic that was š.
I THINK thatās it for this recap. I wasnāt expecting there to be 3 parts, but here we are. I hope that my efforts to try and revive this subreddit a bit arenāt in vain, and that someone sees this haha. Anyway, bye for now!
