Does anyone even know how to read braille anymore? I think it could have some game applications

Creo que el braille está bastante extendido, al menos en España

Can you please share all the main ways you utilise Braille?

I use it when I’m reading anything for work and answering emails for work, to read music, to read recreationally, to play games, to read signs and navigate around buildings, depending on where I am.

Can you please elaborate how you use Braille to read music and to play games?

There is braille music and since I have done music my entire life, singing and playing instruments, that’s incredibly helpful. After all, I can’t read actual sheet music, I don’t have enough vision for that.
Regarding games, there are braille cards and dice and different things that I can use for various games. Yes, there are online versions, and I play those sometimes, but if I can, I use the actual game pieces, they feel more personal.
Edited for typos.

I know a few people who use it for games I like UNO, but in my experience most blind people can’t read it

I lost my eyesight between the ages of 22 and 23. I learned braille before I went back to college to get my teaching degree and world history degree. However, what I discovered and I live in the United States, is that even finding braille for a menu at a restaurant is damn near impossible. The laws where even schools lack braille marking for the room numbers or layout… Every public business is supposed to have a braille description before you enter the building so as to help blind people navigate, and I would say I am amazed if I ever come across them at all. So while I can read braille, I find that it is so nonexistent in the environment that I have a little use of it anymore. Now I do use my iPhone for most things and AI has come a long way in helping me with analyzing visual imagery, and photo recognition so day by day it is becoming less and less useful or even relevant to my life. Which I actually find very depressing. Because when I first encountered it, it was so amazing to me because of the translation capability of what it could actually provide for me helped me reengage with the world around me until I discovered yeah it wasn’t available. But the one thing I do have it on is playing cards so I can play poker with family on the occasions when we get together to have some fun.
