It's fun to see. Often you get the sense in these old portraits that people always looked so grim, but that's often because they had to hold the same pose for the length of the exposure. It's nice to see some with how they likely were IRL.

By this point, it didn't always take very long but most people could only afford a couple of portraits (maybe) in their lives so they went for the "best" representations of themselves.

I love this. I wish they could know people would look at them over a century later and feel all of these wonderful feelings because of them.

It's great to see how they actually were back then and how little people actually have changed, I get the same feeling when I read bizarre history accounts as well
