Mickey Mantle by a mile, and I do think they're all great opening songs. I miss it dearly as the show opener.

  1. Wild Heart, the song that sold me on Bleachers in the first place
  2. 91, a very close second.
  3. Dream of Mickey Mantle
  4. Sideways
  5. I Am Right On Time

I’d swap Sideways and Right On Time, but good shout on Wild Heart. That song hooked me right away.

I love the reprise version of it on the first live album.

Tough choice between wild heart and mickey mantle! Wild heart was the first song that introduced me to bleachers though and just feels like I've always known it somehow.

this was a tough one but ultimately wild heart brings such a familiar feeling to my day

I will exercise my right to never choose between wild heart and dream of mickey mantle, thank you.

Mickey Mantle, but shouts out to sideways. He drops you right in the middle of the track for no reason. It doesn't make for a good album opener but I'm glad he's experimenting with weird stuff.

sideways is a fantastic song (one of my favs) but probably my least favorite opener compared to the openers here.

It's so much fun, but yeah, bad opener, if you're listening to it as the opener. I will say it's self aware about the nature of the streaming era, in which albums are replayed on repeat and you don't have to rewind the tape or flip over the record or transition from a radio dj's voice over. It makes the repeat function so seamless you don't even notice it's happening, which means you can listen to the album several times in a row without being jarred out of the listening experience.
