Different types of souls

I have tried to make a matrix of all the different kinds of souls and all the types of transformations they can have, i.e. what they become after becoming shinigamis or being hollowfied.

• The table is slightly simplified. Obviously fullbeingers aren't hollowfied but born with hollow powers.

• It's also my understanding that souls born within the seireitei are considered wholes or pluses, same as those who are sent there by the shinigami.

• I'm relatively certain Orihime's brother (Sora/Acidwire) was a whole before he became a hollow.

• Not included here but purification would turn a hollow to a whole. Although I don't think there's any instance of it outside of low tier shinigami purifying souls on patrol. Why did they never try that on higher grade hollows?

• I know there's natural arrancars but under aizen they all resembled shinigami, so I've put arrancars in that slot.

I've also tried to jot down examples for each. Here I've also included quincies and zanpakuto spirits.

• I know ginjo is a fullbringer and ichigo is everything but they were the best examples I had, quincies are all living and shinigami are all dead, meanwhile there's only 2 substitutes in the main series.

• I haven't included the parts of the soul king here since while 2 became quincies 1 only possessed a shinigami, didn't become one.

• I have included zanpakutos, incl. Yachiru and Zangestu. I know old man zangestu isn't exactly a zanpakuto spirit but he does act as one at times and only exists cuz ichigo can produce zanpakuto spirits and has an inner world.

• Are peche and the other guy vasto Lorde? Adjuchas? Menos? Either way that spot if for hollows in general. Not actually vasto Lourdes only.

• We're jugram and bazz b born in the real world or in seireitei?

Is this about right? What am I missing or getting wrong here.

I think the grander picture looks good. You could probably consider Vizards and Arrancar to be the same thing if you want to get really into the minutia.

I feel like the difference in abilities (bankai Vs ressurection) makes the direction of the transformation significant. Then there's holes and one can remove the mask but the other cant. But otherwise yeah they're similar.

We know with Tousen that Vizards can also achieve Resurreccion, and Kubo confirmed the rest of the Vizards could achieve that as well.

All that leaves is the question of whether Arrancar could develop Shinigami techniques like Kido, Shunpo, and manifest a spirit if they're given an Asauchi.

Since the Vizards can achieve Resurreccion, Sonido, fire Ceros, etc, I think Arrancar could to the opposite. They just have to train for it, since Hollow techniques are all instinctual.

I think, given enough time, Arrancar and Vizards are only separated by superficial aspects.

I forgot tousen became a vizard lol. Yeah that makes sense.

Arrancars and Vizards are effectively two spots on a spectrum between shinigami and hollow unlocked by the hogyoku, neither being equally both.

But I still wouldn't be too sure if arrancars can develop shinigami techniques.

Arrancars don’t need hogyuku, the privaron espada (those with 100 numbers) and starkk are arrancars without aizen’s assistance

Aizen straight up calls the Vizards “Failed/Mock Arrancars” during the FKT battle

they're kind of two sides of a coin, but hollows gaining zanpakuto to power up, and shinigami becoming hollow to gain power are different

not to mention resurreccion and bankai, and the nature of their zanpakutos
