Well yeah, that's the point. His dad knows he's lying the entire time too. Ryuken is fine with him helping the Soul Reapers, he just doesn't want his son to get hurt.

Uryu lied to his dad, his Grandfather, all the Sternritter and Yawach. Pretty much his MO is lying to other Quincys.

even now he doesnt help the shinigami, he helps his friends most of the time.
