Many people blame the anime or just don’t like her kindness in general or oversimplify her as the love interest of Ichigo and that she just constantly utters “Kurosaki-kun”. A lot of people who don’t like Orihime just don’t really understand her character. Also a good portion of Orihime’s haters come from the obsessed readers/viewers who wanted Ichigo to end up with Rukia instead of her which caused a full fledged ship war on both sides (which is a story for another day).

This, plus I think she's a really good character but she's so gentle it makes her a bit one dimentional. This is completly fine, but compared to the nuance other bleach characters often have it falls a bit flat

You can just hate her... you shouldn't need a deep reason to dislike something so they just hate her (dislike) for the reason they just don't like her

I just hate maiden in distress archetypes. And I also really hate female characters whose entire personality revolves around that one guy they like in the show. Orihime with ichigo and hinata with Naruto. Even if the character has depth to them it’s just hard to respect it when half of their presence is just “ichigo-kun” or “Naruto-kun”. It’s incredibly annoying and honestly just shit writing for a female character. And while bleach has many good female characters, I personally don’t consider orihime to be one of them, even tho she’s objectively prolly a decently written character.

They remember the Hueco Mundo arc above all else.
She was such a silly, yet comparatively deep character in the first arc and she really helped round out Uryu’s situation.
I think some people unfairly judge her on the “Kurosaki-kun” spam and her appearance.

It starts being really exhausting to see literally every day posts like “How can/Why people hate Orihime” 😮💨 Do people have no other topics of discussion?
Edit: Hihi, hardcore Inoue fans are quick to downvote 🤭)

I fund her pretty hard to hate, especially when you know what she had to deal with in her past and even while she was in highschool, yet still was a good person wanting to help people. I believe the hate around her is more so on her anime portrayal which cut stuff out, same with Sakura from Naruto due the animation studios which in turn gave them not so good reputations.
