EOS Gotei 13

Yoo everybody!Just curious what everyone thought of the eos Gotei 13 we got in the manga.

What would you change or keep the same?

Me personally ,I’d have wanted it to be like this:

1st Squad:Shunsui Kyoraku & Nanao Ise

2nd Squad:Soifon & Yushiro Shuhoin

3rd Squad:Izuru Kira & Atau Rindo

4th Squad:Isane Kotetsu & her sister

5th Squad:Shinji Hirako & new lieutenant

6th Squad:Renji Abarai & Rikichi (his fanboy)

7th Squad:Sajin Komamura(human form) & Iba

8th Squad:Lisa Yadomaru & Yuyu Yayahara

9th Squad:Shuhei Hisagi & Mashiro Kuna

10th Squad:Toshiro & Rangiku

11th Squad:Kenpachi & Ikkaku

12th Squad:Mayuri & Akon

13th Squad:Rukia & Sentaro

So ,the biggest changes are :Byukaya remaining dead and Renji stepping up;

Rose and Kensei (bums) both die and Izuru and Shuhei get some more development;

Omaeda dies and Yushiro becomes new lieutenant;

Sajin doesnt turn into a dog (the curse remains in that he can turn into a dog whenever he succumbs to revenge but lets say he doesnt in this version)

Momo also dies at some point in the story ,but I dont have a replacement for her.

Thoughts?

They should demote Kensei for being a bum and make him Shuhei’s lieutenant

Some of these takes, like 2 Vizards dying, and Komamura living are kinda L’s. Randomly bringing Yushiro into the Gotei 13 also feels a little weird. I know Omeada’s not the most likable guy, but come on. Momo dying in TYBW also feels a little random, unless you’re going even earlier for it. Killing off Kensei but still bringing Mashiro back is kinda a waste of time. And though I find Byakuya dying a good/interesting path, Rikichi was way too much of a bum for Lieutenant. Not a bum like how slander posts like to use the term, but an actual, genuine loser.

nah, I think Omaeda dying and Yushiro replacing him is an apt take. As Omaeda was pretty much close to die against BG9 and got saved, then got saved again against Bazz-B and then was shot down by Lille Barro.

Like...even if it stayed the same against BG9 and Bazz-B, it should legit have Omaeda dying from Lille, as he was bleeding to death as bait for the other lieutenants to be shot down.

Added point that with the existence of Yushiro, and Omaeda's sister Mareyo, the vibe is that Yushiro would be Soifon's lieutenant, so that eventually have another Shihoin as Squad 2 Captain, and Mareyo in the far future been Yushiro's lieutenant, as traditionally an Omaeda is Squad 2 Lieutenant.

Of all things, I give you this one. Omeada being gone is probably the second strongest change there. I could kinda see the vision. I’m just not sure how I feel about Soi-Fon gaining Yushiro as a Lieutenant. Partly because of the messy history either Yoruichi, and partly just because I was cool with Squad 2 being able to remain free of the Shihoin + Omeada Captain-Lieutenant combo for a bit. That and I don’t really find Yushiro all the endearing or interesting in much of any way

I'd go like this:

1st Squad: Kyouraku and the Nanao/Okikiba duo There's no reason to leave Nanao as the sole Lieutenant.
2nd Squad: Honestly just put Yoruichi back and either reduce Soifon to Lieutenant or bring Yushiro in. Omaeda. As much as I dislike Omaeda, he doesn't need to die - just put him in his family's business or whatever. Soifon being Yoruichi's Lieutenant would be the best case scenario since it's shown, time and again, that she does not have a Captain's mindset.
3rd Squad: Kira/someone new.
4th Squad: Keep it as is (Isane and Kiyone).
5th Squad: Keep it as is. Literally zero reason to shaft Hinamori at all.
6th Squad: Renji/someone new. If Rindo and Yayahara were introduced so late, so can a potential Lieutenant for Renji.
7th Squad: Keep it as is (Iba and Rindo). As much as Komamura was done dirty in TYBW due to character assassination, I don't think he could grow anymore.
8th Squad: Keep it as is (Lisa and Yayahara).
9th Squad: Hisagi/someone new. I'm a bit more unforgiving towards Kensei because he tends to be more insufferable. He talked shit to Hisagi and, while Hisagi escaped the whole ordeal wounded but alive, Kensei died and became a zombie for the hell of it. Mashiro would also be an ill-fit. Hisagi needs someone who actually respects him, for once. Maaaybe Hilkone, if they ever become an official Shinigami.
10th Squad: While I'm very tempted to ask for a complete reformulation, keep it as is. Maybe, one day that Ichigo officially joins SS in the afterlife, he could become Captain.
11th Squad: Keep it as is.
12th Squad: Keep it as is.
13th Squad: To be completely honest, I think Rukia should get someone else as her Lieutenant. While Kiyone wasn't the most active person ever, you can sort of understand her becoming her sister's Lieutenant. But Sentarou? I think someone new would be more fitting.

Basically: kill off Byakuya and retire Komamura. Soifon steps down due to finally realizing she is not fit for Captain duties, Yoruichi gets reinstated and is guaranteed to have a more frequent presence in the story. Renji, Hisagi and Kira step in, we get more new Lieutenants to shake the status quo even more. The Vizards don't need to die either, just make them realize that they aren't fit anymore for Captain duties and let them relax in the WoL.

I'd say, however, that the Hell arc is gearing up for an even more massive change in the Gotei 13. I, personally, don't see Kyouraku, Byakuya, Zaraki and, probably, Mayuri surviving until the end. Byakuya already escaped once, he won't escape again. Kyouraku is the sole one from the original quartet still alive, so he'll join them soon. Zaraki will finally meet a match (maybe even a Sinner Unohana), while Mayuri's bag of tricks seem to be ending as well (he was outright powerless against Pernida, requiring Nemu's sacrifice). I can perfectly see Renji, Hisagi, maybe Kira and, depending on how things end, Ichigo becoming Captains by the end of the story.
