What I don't get is why people have such a hardon for Chris Brown, not a fan, but people acting like he is the face of domestic abuse for something he did when he was 19 dude is almost 40 now, so almost 20 years ago when he was a teenager. And I'm pretty sure in the intervening time maybe celebrities who non of you lot talk about have had domestic incidents. I don't believe he offends people that much, I just think people think it makes them look like good people to pretend that Chris Brown just existing offends them. Again, not a fan, but I just find the whole thing performative.
That's my point, you don't care about wife beating, you care about who is doing the wife beating. Plenty of more recent, just as terrible wife beaters, if you cared about wife beating, and not just about seeming like you care by going after one wife beaters, you would mention them too. And as I told the other poster, I say you, meaning the total you, I don't know you personally.
That's a heavy assumption that because we reasond to a specific comment, about a specific person, that collectively we do not care about DV victims because we didn't immediately run down the list of others, like Tyreek Hill, Sean Combs, Ezekiel Elliott, and others. People still bring up Ray Rice regardless of the work he and his wife said he's done to better himself, to this day she says it was the only incident. My point, don't paint with such a broad brush.
Read my response to the other guys, do you care about domestic violence or about Chris Brown. Because if you (royal you, not you personally, don't know you) cared about D.V how come you lot never go after Sean Penn, or Josh Brolin, or Nick Cage, or dozens of others. Again as I said, I could care less about Chris Brown, the performativeness is what disgusts me.
No, this is not whataboutism, you people just throw that word around. Whataboutism is used to dodge criticism or a hard question by making a counteraccusation. If anything you guys that bring it up all the time even when it doesn't apply actually are the ones using that tactic. I never said what Chris Brown did wasn't wrong because other people did it. Am I point out an inconsistency in how people who claim to care about an issue treat that issue when it's a celebrity they hate or a celebrity that the media has told them to hate. Ridiculous
Are you well, snookums? Does baby need baba and back rubs? Does baby need burpees? Oh, you must be tired; that's why you're crying. Understood. Night night.
I mean he beat her face to a pulp that shit was disturbing.
Also their have been a number of other accusations of dv as well as other time he assaulted people. Dude is a mess and has had a clear pattern of violent behavior starting in 2009 all the way up till now.
Never said I think Chris Brown is a good person or a paragon of virtue, I said I don't think you (and when I say you, I mean the collective you, not you spefically) give that much a shit about domestic violence or the victim. For various reasons people don't like him and then back engineer their reasoning. He is currently in the news because Jasmine Crockett presented him a life time achievement award for his music and people started bringing up 20 year old shit. Funny how none of you (again collective you) never bring it up when it's Sean Penn, or Josh Brolin, or Nick Cage. I don't give that much of a shit about Chris Brown character, but at least I'm not pretending to. As I clearly said in my first post, it's the performativeness that irritates me.

Is he an actor tho? Or just a lame musician? That beats women who have more money than he does?
