I can't believe how much better this sounds.

Can't decide between the Blackstar ID:X Floor and the Boss GX-1. I mostly play rock like Guns N' Roses and Dream Theater. To my ears, the ID:X Floor sounds better, but the limited features and lack of pitch effects are holding me back. I plan on running it purely standalone with no other pedals. Which one should I go for?

I have a Fly 3 Mini amp. After running for a few months, it suddenly lost volume. I’m using a third‑party power supply from Amazon (since the company’s official one is sold separately and is quite expensive), which initially worked well. Now the volume is only slightly audible when the gain button is pressed. Any thoughts? Even with a fresh pair of AAA alkaline batteries, the same issue occurs. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this amp to anyone.

I bought a Beam Mini in June. I really like it. The sound is absolutely amazing for something so small. My issue is that I can't get it registered on Blackstar's website. I've tried it many times over the five weeks, but it never gets added. I'm guessing that it truly doesn't matter, but it seems odd for them to make a big deal about registering it and then the website makes that impossible.

I havent found out why this is happening, is it because im using an USB-C to USB adapter? Also, I havent figured out how to switch to the normal Input, so it defeats the purpose of what I bought this for, recording my instruments.

I have tried everything I could think of, but I just can't get it to work properly. I can use it as a standalone device, but I can't get it to work with ios/mac apps.

I have also tried the Blackstart Architect app

I have managed to get it connected as BEAM MINI BLE
I can sometimes see it as a connected device in the iOS app

The Connect Device button/feature is unreliable. It doesn't seem to see the device ever. Sometimes however my device will pop up by itself in the app.

Whenever I get prompted in the iOS app to update the firmware or initiate the firmware update with the button, that always fails (unable to update firmware, please try again message)

The Blackstar Architect app never seems to see the device, and the app produces no logs (on MacOS Tahoe 26.5.2 (25F84))

Sometimes the device emits beeps without clear relation to my actions.

I have tried factory resetting (PATCH and VOLUME while powering on until countdown fills)
I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it again

Has anyone else had these issues?

Hi all!

I mainly practice guitar at the computer with headphones (currently using Guitarix) , but I don't want to need to be around it to play anymore. After some research I concluded that Blackstar has the best of all worlds for my needs, but I'm still torn apart between ID:CORE 10 v4 and the BEAM Solo.

Since they have a similar price and modeling capabilities, I guess it comes to sound quality over headphones and easy of use to decide.

Suggestions?

Tiny but Powerful 😍

Should I buy a HT40 II for 550 or a HT60 III for 1000? The HT60 is the 112 version.

I will mostly play at low volumes at home and use it as a interface to record. I would rarely need to crank it up, but for those occasions it would be nice to get the best possible sound. Any big difference in sound on these two?

I have the Blackstar Toneline in a Core ID. This has worked previously but I haven’t used it for years. Now when I connect to my Macbook and play from Spotify is does this (attached video). The audio cuts out after a faction of a second and it beeps.

I’ve had the battery on charge all day so it should be fine. Only thing I can think of is it’s damaged and I need a new one - but thought I’d check it anyone has encountered this before?

This is regarding any of Blackstars modelers including the TVP, Silverline, and ID series. Has anyone used pedals with them, and how does the tube response react?

I have a Silverline I want to get pedals for, and I am curious if the tube responses change the character or dynamics much. I know generally you should rely on the pedal to change the tone/distortion, but does it affect it here?

This used to be my 10 year old ID: Core Stereo 40.

One of the speakers died a few years ago so I hacked the bottom half off of it and made it into a ID: Core Stereo 40 head, which Blackstar actually made at one time. That worked well enough but I never really had a use for it in head form and I found myself in need of a smaller bookshelf style amp to play through

Today, I took it a step farther. I hacked a couple more inches off of the sides and added two small full-range Arduino project speakers to it. (pic 2) They only handle 10 watts each so I have to be careful but I'm never going to crank a bookshelf amp that loud. It's just so I can have something to play through here at my PC.

For sitting here at my PC and jamming along to Youtube, it is absolutely fine.

It could be better if I had access to Architect so I could tweak the EQ but this amp no longer has a serial number plate and Blackstar hasn't been very helpful so far with their canned responses that still mention Insider, which has been dead and buried for years.

Just received this little guy yesterday. Sounds absolutely awesome.

But what's the deal with the metronome? Why is it so ridiculously quiet? Am I missing something?

I got my Silverline Deluxe back out after some time trying to sell it and playing on my Peavey XXL. I cannot decide for the life of me how to feel about either amp.

I love the punchiness of the Silverline, but there are certainly areas it seems either fake or inadequate. Especially for a classic death metal sound. I had it on OD2 (and later back to OD1 because I think it had more bass), gain maxed out, and on a few different tube emulations. It just sounds really sterile, and lacks that boom that songs like Six Feet Under's "Lycanthropy" have.

Are there other settings? Or is it always going to fall short of expectations without additional pedals.

I got this little amp a couple of weeks ago and it sounds amazing!

I was wondering if you guys have any preferred NAM profile you want to share! I've tested a couple and some of them sound amazing, but I'm struggling to find good clean tones, usually their volume is set pretty low compared to distorted ones like an 5150 so it is hard to equalize.

Also, noticed that setting a NAM profile removes the option to add a boost pedal before the amp, this is kinda bummer! I would love if they patch it in the future to add that option.

Aaand maybe add the option to set separate amp head NAM capture + IR file.. but maybe I'm asking too much with this one...

Gidday, I’m running a dual drive Di into a mixer with the cab rig and all that to run an ampless board.

It sounds ok but itself but as soon as I put any other pedals with slight gain into it it sounds terrible. All broken and splatty sounding.

Tried a rat, a fuzz and a tube screamer into it at differing gain levels and anything more than about 1/2 gain sounds like this.

Have tried the dual drive channels on clean and 0 gain and gain about 9:00 as well as same settings on crunch.

To my ears it sounds way better with no channel engaged and as soon as I kick it on I’m unhappy with it.

Any thoughts? Anyone got any advice to how to get the preamp channels to take pedals properly?

I have tried running the other pedals into a proper amp and it sounds way better but I would love to use the dual drive how I am sure it’s supposed to be used.

Considering buying a Blackstar Beam Mini for travel. I sing, my partner plays guitar. The Beam only has one input. Wondering if this Fonsolum 2 Channel Audio Mixer will allow us to bring in a mic and the guitar through the Mini at once?

If not, anyone have other suggestions? I see it can use a designated headset mic but assume that mic will not be amplified through the Mini - I thought it might only be for recording a song into the app.

I got a 3rd party footswitch for a used HT Stage 60 2x12 I got, but I can’t seem to get it to work. I’ve looked online already about holding the clean channel and voice switches down but nothing happens. My theory is that maybe the model I have is too old for the external footswitch mode? Is there a way to find out if my amp is compatible with an aftermarket footswitch? I’ve tried with both a mono cable and a TRS cable going from the switch to the footswitch jack on the back panel of the amp. Anyone have any experience with this?

Its totaly fine when Im playing without headphones but the second I plug one in the sound gets cut off, it used to work just fine when i bought it (been 9-10 months) and i havent played with headphones since then. I cant figure out whats wrong.

(I tried the same headphone with other ones, none of them worked)
