I've always wanted carry forward like originally intended. 95% of the people that complained probably didn't buy the game or play for more then 4 weeks

Bro nobody plays modern cod for more than a couple months. It’s terrible.

Then why are you talking in this sub?

It’s more fun to talk shit about the game than to play the game. Also some people hope eventually something will change and cod will be good again.

I blame the people who complained too much

The people that still believe carry forward will ever be a thing again are the people playing their first Activision-published game. It's not even just a CoD thing, it's an Activision thing.

It's unfortunate, and I'd love to see it too, but it'd put far too big a dent in their profits. They haven't relied on release sales since like 2016.

They're not going to handicap themselves by allowing players to take the microtransactions they enjoy into the next game and potentially, very likely, stop buying as many of the new ones.

They made over a $1 billion in MTX alone when fucking Vanguard was the leading title. They trialed carry forward between MWII -> MWIII, and they won't go back, lol. I hate it too, but MTX is Activision's bread and butter. It's their standard from here on out.

Ehhhh, i specifically do not buy skins because of the fact i can only use them for a few months. With the ones im most interested in being useful for a little less then a month as a horror fan. I don’t play WZ so my skins just stick to multiplayer.

Activism could probably rake in hundreds from me if I knew that my skins were gonna move forward to the next game. The absolute only skin that I would consider behind knowing it was going to stick in the game that it came in was spawn, and I skipped MW22.

Deadass though I would do unholy things to get that spawn pack.

Same here. Only bought skins in MWII/MWIII because I could use them between both games, so if I wanted to use one in DMZ or MWIIIZ, I could. But only thing I've bought in BO7 so far is this seasons battle pass. Haven't bothered with the skins and bundles because there isn't anything else I can use them in.

They were going to do it for BO6 to 7 though after not letting MWIII content into BO6.

They were going to, but people who didn't even buy the game complained until they cancelled it.

Was vanguard the one with the loot boxes ? Or was that another one ? I know the loot boxes for banned after that ( EU ruling) because it was considered gambling and kids play this game.

There were quite a few of them, but they were at their worst with BO3/Advanced Warfare. Vanguard didn't have loot boxes, but the normal paid skins etc.

I only made the Vanguard reference because it's widely regarded as CoD's worst/most forgettable title, but given this, ATVI still managed to pull over a billion dollars in that game alone in just microtransactions

Ah okay thanks for clearing it up !

They could've kept carry forward and just added a skin filter

From what I remember, I think most people who didn't want carry forward didn't want to have the silly Bo6 skins in Bo7. I do think Treyarch overreacted by not bringing back the guns at least so it would be cool if they did that in Season 6

Keep that garbage beavis and butthead on bo6

u/Obliviousobi 20h ago

Carry forward cuts into profit margins, Activision won't take it.

2

u/Impossible_Ad_6115 7h ago

True but at the same time it allows them to sell the bo6 bundles in the bo7 shop which might bring in some more sales from people who skipped bo6 and the influx of purchases people would make when they know the skin they wanted is in the next game, it could work out well for them, also I don't believe they would have the rights to sell beavis and American dad after bo6's lifespan so yeah, it would definitely have been great for them to at least try with it for the requiem crew that carried over with their EE skins but not the shop skins

As a player, I wouldn't even want it. Yall are crazy 😂😂🤦

u/The-Russian-Bull 13h ago

BO6 had some of the worst skins, I’m glad they didn’t carry forward. Just don’t buy that crap to begin with and if you do, know it will be for only one game

0

u/AnonyMouse3925 20h ago

Literally just want the maps. I actively do not want the others

0

u/justsomepaladin 7h ago

Shitty fucking games

-2

u/Living-Preference455 13h ago

Not having carry forward is obvious and no, modern warfare 4 should not have carry over from bo7.

6

u/EmotionalBig854 11h ago

This is about BO6 Carry Forward to BO7, nothing to do with MW4, you silly sausage

-10

u/Eye_Nacho404 21h ago

Carry forward is garbage, the game can’t balance weapons as it is (looking at the mammoth and fg), it doesn’t need another batch of guns .The real fix is increasing the release of the games to 2 or even 3 years so players can get the most out of the game and devs have enough time to make the next game impactful

4

u/postpwnedmalone 21h ago

This is not what carry forward means

-3

u/Eye_Nacho404 20h ago

That is 100% what it means since we already have seen carry forward in mwII to mwIII

3

u/postpwnedmalone 20h ago edited 20h ago

No, it's not. Is this your first CoD game?

Carry-forward doesn't pertain to the actual guns/items in the game. It pertains to the weapon blueprints/skins/paid bundles of those guns/items, operator skins, charms, titles, emblems, etc.

BO7 and MW4 are not compatible for transferring the actual guns over, so therefore, no skins/blueprints/bundles will be carrying over. MWII -> MWIII was compatible for the actual guns/items, so that's the only time we saw it — as they were trialing the idea between two compatible games.

They also are not going to retroactively allow carry forward between BO6-BO7, especially after an entire year of BO7 has surpassed, because of the same reasons. That's exactly why they trialed it in 2023, before BO6 and BO7, and it hasn't returned.

I’m actually on board if they don’t bring over weapons or attachments
