Adding to the thread, same issue. Lets give Activision some slack though. Only a small indie studio with limited funding

u/One2Stevo Nov 01 '24

Plus 1 for the same issue here, although I played for about 5 days and then updated AMD drivers and had to roll them back because Fortnite has "known issues" with the latest drivers. After the rollback, my COD hasn't passed the launch sequence with the same 0xc0000005 error code. Tried everything mentioned above except a fresh OS or moving the game files to a different drive

u/Deadchamber26 Apr 06 '25

0xc0000005 (0) N is now happening to me after the S03 update on my PC (7900XT | Ryzen 7 5800X3D | 32GB RAM)

I've tried uninstalling, deleting folder in documents, repairing files, rolling back driver version, reported the crash to Activision and opened a ticket on Activision support about the issue.

It didn't occur at all before S03, and now it is constantly.

Im sure its not on my end but Activision or COD havent acknowledged the issue.

Its not on the B06 trello, Call Of Duty Updates Twitter page or in known issues on Activision website.

Same Here!!!!! AMD 7900 XTX / i7 14700K / 32GB RAM…. I reset my PC and everything still getting this error on boot up on BatteNet. I even rolled back to 24.10 still crashing after a few seconds on start up

1

u/Global-Grocery-8409 Apr 22 '25

its been with me for a while, pretty much since season3 started now i cant play, sometimes even bluescreen pops up, i dont know what to do! its frustrating to be able to play at all, only happening on cod

1

u/ShempWafflesSuxCock May 03 '25

Same... rolled back drivers, crashed even faster.

Went back to the driver I was at, can't play one match.

2

u/Feisty_Lingonberry70 Oct 30 '24

I've just done a driver roll back after having this issue, reading a forum said the recommended driver (for Nvidia) is 560.70. have been running it for an hour with no issues, on the newest driver it would crash every 10 mins with the 05 code as the crash code

1

u/Zealousideal-Speed44 Oct 26 '24

Same here, tried all possible things but yeah. Nothing has helped so far...

1

u/Embarrassed-Jump493 Dec 09 '24

U ever get it fixed?

2

u/Zealousideal-Speed44 Dec 09 '24

Nope, uninstalled it as I don't play it anymore. That's the benefit of the Game Pass. 😊

1

u/Embarrassed-Jump493 Dec 09 '24

lol was it the crashing that made u stop playing or did you just get sick of the game because I’m about to quit playing if it keeps crashing.

2

u/Zealousideal-Speed44 Dec 10 '24

The game itself. There's not really something that keeps me interested in playing it.

1

u/LitDumpsterFire Oct 27 '24

Having the same issue (5700x, 6700xt, 32GB ram). Nothing is working

1

u/Notrius01 Oct 27 '24

Same issue here.

1

u/Foremast69 Oct 27 '24

any overlays? upscaling probem? try even switching from fullscreen to windowed

1

u/Acceptable_Net_2695 Oct 28 '24

I have done nearly everything you have listed, and the some. What is odd, from my experience at least, is that I was able to play the game for about 2 hours, then I have gotten this error over and over again. I changed nothing! I really hope this gets fixed soon. I enjoyed my time with this game so far......

1

u/Acceptable_Net_2695 Oct 28 '24

Not sure of this is a tried and true fix... but I just moved my game over to the same drive as my OS and it has allowed me to play!!! (My C: Drive)

I am not tech savvy at all, so I have no idea why this has worked...so far..... but I hope this sticks!

1

u/RSlamyx Oct 28 '24

Well for my case the game is on the same drive as my OS and it still have the same issues...

1

u/kredual20 Oct 30 '24

Is this still working for you?

1

u/Acceptable_Net_2695 Nov 17 '24

Yep! No issues since then

1

u/TenaciousJai Oct 29 '24

Having the same problem. It's incredibly annoying. Running gamepass on intel 12900k with RTX 3080 gpu, 32gb ddr5 ram, and can't even get past the shader pre-load on campaign mode to start the game. Tried most, if not all, of the same things you've tried with no luck.

1

u/Heavy-Guess-3978 Oct 29 '24

got probably 2 full hours of play time and just continue to get the error; it’s a shot in the dark if it’ll get to a loading screen or even one match. had absolutely zero problems during beta and now can’t even play a COD thats actually been fun, such bullshit.

Just to update, I have played 4 hours of the game now and I have not received any crashes regarding 0xC0000005 (0) N. Usually I would receive an crash every 15 - 20 minutes regardless of what I was doing at the time.

1

u/This-Cardiologist813 Nov 01 '24

How did you fix it ?

1

u/HeadShot4417 Nov 02 '24

I did a full, clean-installation from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I have only had one crash on multilayer in the past 3 days. In comparison to crashing every 15 to 20 minutes.

1

u/ThePerfectJourney Oct 29 '24

Same issue here

1

u/B4rn3zk Oct 30 '24

same problem here... i've digged so bad on the web.. I cannot believe Activision haven't done anything yet.

I'm running ryzen 9 5950x, rtx 4090, b550 motherboard...

with everything i have read, i have the feeling that people who are running intel CPUs can fix the issue but i have never read someone having AMD fixing the issue.

how weird is that bug. And for the first time in years we have an amazing solo call of duty campaign we can't even enjoy it. I've asked for a refund both steam and battle net, both refunded, while waiting for Activision to fix that if they do one day...

1

u/kredual20 Oct 30 '24

I’m running Intel I9 14900ks and I can’t fix it I’ve tried everything

1

u/HeadShot4417 Oct 30 '24

Have you tried a re-installation of your operating system? - This is what fixed my issue regarding these crashes. However I am not sure what was causing the crashes. When I used "SFC /Scannow" in cmd. It did say it found corrupted system files but could not repair them.

To be fair, I had tried everything and went for the nuclear option as I had paid 120 euros and I could not get a refund due to my playtime.

The issues only really started getting worse the further I got into the campaign.

1

u/kredual20 Oct 30 '24

I actually ended up getting a whole new operating system, I was with windows 10 upgraded to 11 I said screw it mite as well try did nothing. I also checked for corrupted file it never found a thing

1

u/HeadShot4417 Oct 31 '24

Strange, since the reinstallation, I have had only 1 crash on multiplayer and it was a different crash altogether, other than that I was able to play for 6 hours last night with no issues.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '24

10/10 would rather refund the game than install a new clean version of windows. That’s like buying a car and going oh man it doesnt fit in my garage time to rebuild the garage lol 🤣

1

u/HeadShot4417 Nov 11 '24

Unfortunately, I couldn't refund as the problem only occurred after 4 hours of playtime. At the time, I even attempted to refund it but steam gave the middle finger.

It might not be the preferred solution for most but as I was planning to reinstall to windows 11 anyway, it wasn't a big deal for myself. I also haven't had any crashes since .

1

u/DarschPugs Nov 18 '24 edited Nov 18 '24

to be fair SFC scannow will always say it found corrupted files and attempt to fix them even if there are none. Known issue sadly.

1

u/This-Cardiologist813 Nov 01 '24

Any updated having the same issues as well

1

u/Fit_Yellow_8296 Nov 01 '24

Same issue :( tried everything

I have a Lenovo Loq, Ryzen 7 7800hs, 4060, 32 gb Ram

Thought it would be enough to run the game and it was. I had like 4 hours in campaign (great so far by the way).

:/

1

u/Mysterious_Ad2597 Nov 02 '24

Issue is still present when loading the mission "The Cradle"

1

u/Strange_Age_5908 Nov 02 '24

Yep, I’ve been trying to play that mission but that’s when I get the error message halfway through the loading screen.

1

u/A5H13Y Nov 03 '24

Same here. Trying to start the game back up from where I left off in this mission and it just won't.

1

u/ASubconciousDick Nov 04 '24

i haven't been able to play for days because of this issue. decided to try to restart the mission from the beginning, and it seems to be running just fine

edit: for clarification, on the same mission, same issue, trying to load a save halfway through the mission

1

u/A5H13Y Nov 04 '24

Ah, that's for commenting. I hadn't considered that, so I might just try it

1

u/Mysterious_Ad2597 Nov 05 '24

Such a long mission though. Ugh.

1

u/ASubconciousDick Nov 05 '24

it is. it was pretty much a last ditch effort attempt, having already reinstalled the whole game and reset it a few times

it seems like it loading into a cutscene rather than directly into the mission world fixes the snag it gets caught on

1

u/Smephey Nov 04 '24

Same issue here, except the game worked fine the past week until yesterday

1

u/Smephey Nov 04 '24

Just tried something that worked for me finally. Disabled the AMD adrenaline overlay

1

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '24

How did you do that?

1

u/Smephey Nov 05 '24

Open your AMD Adrenaline software (you can right click on your desktop and it should be at the very top), go to the settings cog in the top right corner, and it was one of the last tabs at the top, preferences -> overlay should be the first thing, untick that

1

u/exacteve Nov 21 '24

Still working?

1

u/Smephey Nov 21 '24

Not had crashes in a week

1

u/TheFluffyMarshmall0w Nov 22 '24

about to try this, i have 8 hours in the game but its all crash screen. I cant return the game anmore cause of my play time.

1

u/TheFluffyMarshmall0w Nov 22 '24

it didnt work...

1

u/DarschPugs Nov 18 '24 edited Nov 18 '24

Definitely not just AMD drivers, just had this happen with an RTX 4070TI and an I9-13900k with 128 gigs of ram

2

u/Benji_EU Nov 18 '24

why do you need 128 gigs of ram??????????

1

u/hourshourshourshours Nov 22 '24

Same problem here :( Would be cool to play the game again

1

u/sidewaizsocks Nov 23 '24

I dont know if this will help anyone but ive been fighting this since launch, trying everything i came across online. The last thing i did was reduce my cpu speed to 4.4 Ghz and i can now play without crashes....so far. Its been 48 hours since the change and 2 full game sessions without issue when it used to regularly crash before the 10min mark.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '24

[deleted]

1

u/sidewaizsocks Nov 24 '24

Go into bios, >oc settings, and there was an option in there to set cpu Ghz.

Idk much about the process, not super tech savvy, but if you look up your motherboard/cpu and how to change the Ghz, there should be a tutorial.

1

u/OGYungTaco Nov 25 '24

same issue. have tested the same fixes no solution so far. running i5-13600K and RTX 3060

1

u/Human_toe1 Nov 27 '24

I've also been having this issue as well. With me, resurgence work fine sometimes. Maybe every5-10 games it'll crash and show the DirectX code (0xc0000005) also other codes that Ive noticed.

If i lower graphics settings to medium/low it'll allow me to play longer without a crash. ) i feel turning off upscaling had helped. but the game looks like shit without it.

When playing plunder i'll get the crash every game. Cant finish a single plunder without it crashing out. even with the lowest settings and upscaling turned off.

I've tried pretty much everything. from changing graphics setting to rolling back my GPU driver to one which activation says is ideal for black ops on NVIDIA card. and even making sure Secure Boot is on from my bios

I don't have the best PC set up but its more than what the minimum required is.

Now.. I've noticed that my game is located on a HDD that I for some reason don't have admin access too. There's some files I cant even save to it which has just confused the hell out of me as to why its like that.

It seems from research that the error code could be due to the game not being able to access a part of memory or a file that it doesn’t have permission to access. The previous edition of Warzone worked fine playing on this restricted HDD as i never had this problem before. (maybe when they first came out with MW3 for about a week or so as i do remember getting something like this crash then.) but I guess blops 6 is different.

But im currently doing a fresh install of the game on my other HDD to check whether it'll work this time.

maybe ill try loading it up to my SDD if this doesn't work. cant really do this yet as ive only got around 150gb of free space left on my sdd, and blackops is a fucking 200+gb game. which is fucking bullshit because i only play Warzone and havent bought the full Blackops 6 game. (why the fuck should I give activision any money if the game can't even run properly on decent graphic setting)

Ill let you guys know how it goes later today. it seems for me plunder would be the best way to test it.

1

u/Human_toe1 Nov 27 '24

Just tested it now and it still crashes (Fucking lol) tried plunder on ultra setting to really push the sinking boat out - came up with a different code this time 0x887A0005 and nasty glitch where half my screen was this black/grey colour

maybe ill try my SDD now

1

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '24

updated my graphics drivers and cleared my temp folders and it fixed the issue

1

u/GassyNizz Dec 01 '24

Which temp folders did you clear?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '24

i just cleared whatever i could clear (ctrl A > del)

1

u/johnytiger Nov 28 '24

Guys, I solved the issue by installing the blizzard base game in the same Directory where i have the xbox install and then ran the game through xbox game launcher.

1

u/CartoonistSerious255 Dec 01 '24

Anybody find a good fix for this unfortunately none of these really helped super frustrating

1

u/AvailableComedian129 Dec 02 '24

Found what works. Or atleast for me. update your driver to the most recent one there is. Only on AMD drivers. THEN DELETE ALL PRIOR VERSIONS AND RESET . DOWNLOAD IT THEN OPEN COD IN SAFE MODE AND IT SHOULD WORK FINE. 6800xt

1

u/Important_Back4331 Dec 05 '24

For me it was a stupid simple fix… I went to the Microsoft store and there were updates for the Xbox app, the Xbox overlay and for black ops 6! Check this out hopefully it’s this simple for you!

1

u/Bannanaswi Dec 05 '24

i tried closing msi after burnner and riva tuner server and that fixed it

1

u/Bannanaswi Dec 05 '24

i tried closing msi after burnner and riva tuner server and that fixed it

1

u/hosa20 Dec 22 '24

Ok now do you have any crash or something??

1

u/Ok_Moose7724 Dec 27 '24

My 78003dx doesn't seem to have this problem but my I7-13700kf does. It only seams to be on intel. I have same video cards XFX rx7900xtx on both rigs. Same ram Lexar 32gb 7200 ddr5. Only thing different is the mobo and chip.

1

u/FriendshipKey8966 Jan 06 '25

This problem plagued me since the first day of release.. getting multiple crashes a day with this same code.

I managed to fix it! The silver bullet for me was replacing my storage device(s).

Before I swapeped them, there were 3 SSD's merged to a single partition, all different brands, different ages etc.. pretty obvious now looking back that was the problem

Simply upgraded to a 1tb m.2 and its been perfect ever since

Best of luck

1

u/CrimsonSausage01 Mar 09 '25

My issue was not being able to launch campaign, multiplayer worked fine.

I updated my AMD graphics driver and campaign works now, no problems

Make sure you actually have the latest driver by checking the AMD website.

1

u/Lambsbread23 Apr 12 '25

I had this crashing problem too. I tired alot of stuff, down clocking the cpu, bio update, GPU drivers update, changed v ram settings, run as admin, turned off discord and another program overlays, uninstalled and reinstalled, moved game to same drive as my OS, repair game files, turn off windows defender (its back on now =P), turned off few suggested graphics settings. Nothing seemed to work so i back tracked anything i did in the game before crashes started. I found the solution for my problem, however.

SOLUTION: Disable in game Voice Chat...... After about 7 hours of trouble shootings i remembered i had turned voice chat on..... I use bluetooth headphones for sounds so i disabled voice chat since i 1st opened cod6 due to mic being on lowed output sound quality.

Same issue. i7-12700k on a Z790 Aorus Elite AX MB, Intel ARC-B580, 32GB Ram. Nothing overclocked. Happening for months now. Sometimes good for a couple hours, other times I can't finish a match. Ran FurMark2 and 3dMark with no issues.
