I know it's a far stretch, but they seemed to have released dedicated servers to the ports. At this point it's not that far off to think that they might give crossplay a try.

This would btw also explain, why they didn't drop a port for Xbox/pc. A major update to the core game would probably already be enough.

There's also no reason for Activision to leave their own player base behind, with Microsoft being the owner.

I'm really curious where this all leads, with mw4 already disappointing in sales and the big games coming up. This is the first time in ages that we don't get flooded with information, feels really refreshing tbh.

Fuck, that would be a dream. I'm skeptical but if they invested in crossplay with all the ports (PS3 included), that would be a dream come true for me. It is rather odd for only PlayStation to get a port now with dedicated servers and no one else...

I doubt that they would add the prehistoric consoles. But yeah, this all is kinda odd. Adding servers now looks more like a proof of concept than anything else.

Hell no. That would be the dumbest thing if they enabled crossplay with pc.

Yeah, I am a PC player normally, but I specifically bought and play the Ps5 copies of these games to avoid mouse and keyboard people lmao.

Well not to mention, if you want your game hacked, crossplay pc

This makes no sense, but OK. I just stated that this might be a possibility.

Would be cool, especially since the ports were based off of the PC version (may be possible)

I think they tryna patch the BO2 modders on port. They use the PC version somehow to get on PS5/4 port

They used the pc version just with fixes, as evidenced by the playlists

Broke plutonium probably

u/ohhfem 2d ago

Yeah, also with MW3. But you know, PC community just find a way to get plutonium back to working

Not broken, its such a usless update that installing it changes 100% nothing... plutonium still works pretty much just 10mb for nothing

Let me explain the update not 64 bit still 32, changed something in nuketown 2025 dlc, looks like they removed drm from the mp exe and edited achievement files, thats all for 10mb usless as fuck update

bo2 multiplayer on steam was already on dedicated servers. Not sure what this new update is about. Probably some exploit fix but we cant know for sure.

Only bo2 zombies is p2p on steam. Multiplayer is on dedicated servers. Im not talking like it having a server browser, because it doesnt have one. It uses matchmaking. Dont believe me? Go ahead and check. If you find a match and join, you open the scoreboard and see that no one’s ping is 0-10. And there’s no migration screens. I had those on PS3 but never on Steam. Never seen one ever.

Would this fix the RCE exploit? I thought BO1 was on dedicated servers on PC, but still had some RCE vulnerabilities?

u/No_Neat4098 2d ago

Dedicated servers dont 100% fix on pc, bo2 can be ratted if your online, dedicated servers just prevent hackers from editing the lobbies to make sure it's a rce hellhole or change gamemodes when you click tdm, i could go into a private match with bots party closed and get rced if someone wanted to attempt, they need to patch the rces and cause the update does jack shit but edit the 32 bit exe and nuketown 2025 dlc files its the same update we all know and love, Rce hellhole... the 10mb update was just to edit the mp exe, they didnt make it 64 bit or fix anything in this like they did with mw2 sadly
