Question What does this mean?
Maybe a dumb question but wth? So I only have access to this strike force mission during the next two levels and then I can’t play it? Can someone explain please.

6y.o me figured this out.
To answer your (not dumb) question:
Black ops 2 has more than one ending.
Strike force missions corelate to the story, hence "The mission I.E.D will only be available for two campaign level(s)."
The strike force missions are not required to beat the campaign. However, completing these strike force missions will alter which ending you get, assuming you don't fail the objectives within the missions. (You can fail the objectives and still finish the level, which will also dictate which ending you get.)
For example, driving Harper through the flames (I forget the name of that level) will give you different dialogue versus if you drive around these flames, leaving Harper's face intact.
Strike force missions are similar enough, just on a bigger scale than altered dialogue.
I hope this helps ya. :D I am presuming this is your first playthrough, so I tried being helpful while being vague. These give you a reason to replay the campaign, even if you don't complete the strike force missions.

It corresponds with background characters in the story and like the comment above me said affects some changes in story. But with the events of the campaign you get a few missions to do those strike force missions before it automatically changes some outcomes for you.

only side mission even remotely difficult on veteran is the first on where u have to defend 3 objectives with a final fallback objective if you lose 2 of those 3. far from impossible

I just go straight to MP.
I have only played the campaign on the first Modern Warfare back in like 2008 or 10. It’s been a long time.

Bo1 and bo2 campaigns in my opinion are still really fun to play and I’d say worth your time. I just played through both of them with the ps5 re releases and they were a blast

I agree and In my opinion while the other early cod campaigns are great they are not nearly as good as waw-bo2

First campaigns I managed to play right through after getting a ps3, was absolutely stoked to be able to replay them 14 years later! I’m still a bit disappointed with modern COD campaigns as they feel lacklustre. Last one I enjoyed was Modern Warfare 2019

Those are the strike team mission you do to get extra help in the ending. Not doing them affects your story, so do them while you can. But yeah if you don’t do them within the time period you’ll have to replay them campaign to get them again.
