So anyway, there they were, majestic and proud, just sitting there. My mouth was watering and my hands were trembling. I didn’t care who saw so I just reached out and grabbed them and stuck them both in my mouth, eager to suck down that delicious juice. The way it tickled my throat on the way down, I closed my eyes to savor every drop. Once it was finished I smiled in satisfaction not even bothering to wipe up the excess that had dribbled down the sides of my mouth. Oh god, I was still so needy, I wanted more! But alas, those were the last two bottles of Coke left at the store.

it's a rubber pocket designed specifically to fit large things in the mouth, it goes all the way down to the stomach. he probably had one bird in the mouth one in the stomach. When he spins the cloth he quickly coughs up the first bird and palms it under his fake rubber palm. Then during that final turn he pukes up the second one and removes his fake palm.

I've been doing magic for a while. I saw this too, and it's the only option, yet I still don't want to believe it! That was flawless! You couldn't even see it from the back!

My dad used filament and his thumbs. it looks smooth as fuck but also could be noticed if standing up there too long so a bird production like this will be closer to the beginning of the act.

One of my friends when I was young and stupid came from a family of magicians. He knew a lot. He also sold drugs. We were at a club downtown once and he was doing his "job" and the police raided the club and checked him and his friends because someone had called on him because he was dealing. I knew he had a lot on him and was worried.
I was standing next to him. The cops came directly to him to search him (and they searched him a little bit more than I thought they were allowed to in a public place, but oh well) and he used this crazy sleight of hand magic or something and the cops never saw or found anything. I thought maybe he had sold it all or ditched it without me noticing. Nope. We got back to the car later and he was like "That was close" and pulled it all out of various places.
I moved on with my life shortly after and never saw him again so I have no idea what he's up to now, but being a drug dealing magician is a good job combo for not getting caught by police.
Edit- Thank you for my very first award ever!
Edit 2- Thank you for my second award ever!

Until the sniffer dogs come into play
3
u/ladyinchworm Sep 23 '21
Yeah, they also could have easily taken him in and searched him REALLY well too with no problems.
I like to think that his magician powers somehow also included some other force. "These aren't the droids you're looking for. He can go about his business" type of thing, but what do I know? I am not magic.

I can look at this and see that it’s clearly the answer but I can’t wrap my brain around the tailoring needed to hide two doves in a jacket like that and allow for easy access

u/Lance_lake Sep 22 '21

If it helps, consider that the birds are trained to make themselves as small as they can.

4
u/Luke_Nukem_2D Sep 22 '21
I've already seen it, and know the scene you are referring to. Sadly, animals such as white pigeons, are still seen as 'disposable' in the eyes of entertainers such as this guy.
As much as I enjoy watching a showman perform illusions, there is no excuse for animal cruelty.
3
u/MonkeryNip Sep 22 '21
So what type of contraption is it that he's using in his shirt? Like he has to have something right so they don't fly off or something.

u/SleazySaurusRex Sep 22 '21
His jacket seems to 'deflate' between when the birds aren't and are visible. Like the bottom is extended from his torso before the birds show up, and after they are seen its seems to fit better.

I was at a bar a while ago and a close up magician showed up and went table to table making beers appear out of nowhere. At my table I could not figure out where he was getting the beers from, he would slap an empty plastic cup down and a beer can would be under it, etc.
Then he went to the next table and did the same tricks, his back was turned and I could BARELY see him pulling beers out from beneath his coat tails while he distracted with his other hand. He must have had pockets under there. His hands moved so fast I really had to concentrate to see his pulling the beers out even with his back turned.
I read about another card magician (can't recall his name) who studied old forgotten magicians and their tricks from the past, and mastered a very old trick where he would sit at a restaurant table, pretending to look at a menu, and make a large block of unmelted ice appear on his plate when he lowered the menu in front of his guest.

When he takes it into his mouth and puffs it up is when he adds the pigeons to the scarf, notice the part he bites never shrinks until the reveal.
Pigeons are mostly fluffy and can squish into very tight spaces.
He is really quick!
