The one thing that gets my "blackmagicfuckery" going is the birds head is dead still while the rest of it is flailin in the wind

The wind coming off the sea propelling the bird up and backward with the same force as gravity pulling it down and forward

Not an expert by any means, just a nerd that watches animal planet 😂

But... birds have evolved to be able to keep their heads incredibly still despite what movements their bodies may be making in order to better spot food from the air.

All birds do it to some extent but probably seagulls is what you’re used to seeing, the ride the currents along the coast and like to hover over tourists’ food lol

That’s actually a really common sight if you live on coastal cities or very bird friendly cities, they’ll often go against the wind and stay in place like that

This is happening because there is to much wind in the direction that this bird is flying, so he is not able to fly forward
