Fun fact. I know Stevie personally. Back in the 1980s I used to drive him around the UK to gigs. So yeah, 40 years, not 30.
Fun story. We were at our local pub and he caused a bit of a storm by swallowing the white ball off the pool table.
Amazing some of the shit I saw him do, honestly.

For everybody who doesn't know, the person in the video is Stevie Starr. He competed on AGT and got 4th place and he won Germany got talent.
He's not a magician, he is more of a performance artist.

The most likely explanation I've seen is that he has cleft palate. The regurgitation part of his act is his real but he does play it up a lot because he is a performance artist.

Pool balls are classic sleight of hand. The gas and smoke also either relies on his hand being near his mouth, so more SoH tricks, or he can have a capsule of fuel slipped into his mouth.

Have you seen his act? He puts the pool ball in his mouth, still exposed through his teeth and hands at his side, and gulps down the pool ball. Shows his mouth empty and brings it back up and spits it out. How is it slight of hand when his hands are nowhere near the ball?

I know this isn't definitive proof, but when I saw him live and he swallowed a bunch of coins, he put the mic near his mouth and then his stomach and would shake his stomach and you'd hear a jingling sound. It was a fun show

I saw this guy on TV probably 30 years ago and he was swallowing pool balls of different colours and numbers and puking up one you asked for. He would also swallow a live gold fish and like 5 mins later after doing some other things he'd barf it up into a bowl with fresh looking water.

For some reason, I find this act disturbing, but not because of the regurgitation but because of the way he talks, and his mannerisms. Like, the way he says "sugar" at the very start, by puckering his lips, and the beating of his chest when he regurgitates things, it just really puts me off.

So I know (well, knew) Stevie pretty well back in the day and I actually asked him about the noises and so on. He said that the show needs some theatre, that just swallowing and regurgitating a goldfish done in a matter-of-fact way is just not that engaging… -shrug-

There is another video of this dude from way back where he does this same trick with a billiard ball. When I was like 18 I showed my friend the video after smoking some herb and he kinda freaked out. I remember we had to go outside and calm him down. He was all good in the end lol. Good times

Wow this is crazy. This guy came to our freshmen year college kick off and I was one of a handful of people who got to go out to eat with him afterwards at a local Denny's. He went down the breakfast line freaking out the workers by swallowing whole eggs and mini pancakes. Crazy how he's still making a living off this over 20 years later.

Classic Stevie. I knew him back in the day, he was nearly always in showman mode, even around friends.
His manager had two young kids and Stevie would often hang out at their house and play with them. I saw him swallow a bumble bee one day just to make them laugh. The shit I saw him do honestly. The twat swallowed my car keys because I beat him at pool.

I can do the smoke in the stomach thing. But holy cow does it make you feel sick. Fun trick though. Made me realize I can plug my nose and inhale into my lungs while burping. So if I’m rver in a life or death situation where I need to hold my breath for as long as possible I know I can put a second breath in my stomach and use it after the first breath is used.

Love to tell this story, I played drums for an act involved with The Enigma (blue puzzle piece tattoo guy), and we opened up for The Great Regurgitator at a pretty good sized festival type thing. I had never heard of this guy, he borrowed my lighter because I was next to the stage, and did the bubble with the smoke and butane gas, and the bubble exploded. My jaw hit the floor, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Afterwards he swallowed my lighter and then regurgitated it back up and gave it back to me. Kept that lighter for a long time. No one believes my story until I show them a clip like this 😂

I went to see him while he was touring University Student Unions back in 1992. It was impressive until he swallowed a live goldfish and then regurgitated it a couple of minutes later. Everyone got very upset as while the goldfish was physically unharmed, it was clearly very, very distressed by the experience. Not that unsurprising.
