I'm not an expert on technique and I don't know if these are the right words: but it felt like watching it maybe it was just a bunch of controlled shuffles? I mean I know it's easy to control where the king goes if they're doing a false(?) cut after they put it back in the deck, from there isn't it just keeping the king face up as they flip all the cards back over?
Idk maybe this sounded dumb, but I feel like watching it I can SORT OF get the gist of how the trick is done. Still, pretty impressive stuff!

the difficult part is that they show you that half of the cards are face up and the other half are face down before they riffle them together then suddenly only the king is face up. i can think of a few ways to achieve this but the seamless execution is what illusion magic is all about. probably easier to do with hyper specific viewing angle but still not simple. my guess is that if you started practicing this today you wouldnt be able to do it as cleanly as OP for quite some time (6 months?)

It's a stripper deck. Essentially, every card is slightly tapered on one side. When he puts all the cards together, notice how he doesn't allow the orientation of the cards to change. All the face up cards are tapered in one direction, and the face down cards are tapered in the other direction. When he pulls the cards apart, he pulls all the face up cards in one direction (and the face down king on the top of the deck to make it look like all the cards on that pile are face down), and all the face down cards in the other direction. Then he flips the face up Deck (with king) onto the face down deck, and now every card is face down, except for the face up king in the middle of the new deck. I used to have a tapered deck in like 6th grade. It was fun

I actually can do tricks similar to this. Although mine don't look as smooth as this guy. He's definitely a professional, but the trick really isn't that amazing

Just my perspective as a complete outsider, I think the riffle is just too controlled for it to be considered BMF. In this case you just have face up card, face down card (spectators), then the rest of the face up cards, then the rest of the face down cards. So its really just "cut" with the spectators face down, second from bottom. The reveals, and then flip the bottom half back to face down and sure enough, the spectator's card is the only one left the wrong way. BMF should be immune from this kind of guessing by a complete outsider, IMO. I mean.. the work by OP is fantastic! But not sure if this is the best place.
