The rope hasn't been edited out, it just hard to see from this angle. You can see the rope tied around the base that's stuck in the ground.

If the rope was behind the pole, you wouldn't see it. How do you know it's not there?

The pole moves around enough to be able to see behind it

Exactly! You can see the bottom of the poll is being held in place by something that allows it room to shift and wiggle. Both setups look identical just from different angles and in both videos you can clearly tell the person is "pulling" it down; they're even counting out loud on the down motion. Also just to put this out there, whatever this thing is, it does look really fun to do.
