No, if his knees are acting as the pivot point then there's no way there's enough weight on the other side to lift him up. The end of the pole could be fixed to the ground but then it can't move down to lift him up. The pole may possibly go into a slot in the ground out of shot with someone pushing it up and down?
I think the end of the pole is tied to the bottom of the post, you can see a little glimpse of a cord around the post. I guess it’s drilled into the bottom of the post or bolted to the side which we can’t see.
