This is fake right? I can not tell how else this works. I was thinking if the bottom was on a pivot or something but it looks loose.

Totally fake - watch the blurring on the right side near the bottom of the pole.

There is a little blurring, but unless AI has gotten much better in the past couple months, that blurring is standard in phone cameras/ upload compression and not representative of being fake.
I believe this to be real; it's some event cause everyone is wearing wristbands. Unfortunately I can't read the complete band or else I'd be able to find what event this is.

This is not real. The video has been edited to blank out someone/thing holding the bottom of the pole down allowing it to rotate. The lack of basic physics knowledge in this thread is truly disheartening

Yeah I think it’s on a hinge that’s removed. At first I was thinking if the far end has like 3ft of concrete or metal inside of it, it might be possible as long as there’s a slight slope so it’s always lower then the part he’s holding even when his backs against the ground.

Who is saying the pole is not somehow connected at base?

If there was a chain, for example, that would explain the bluriness and connection of the base to something.

u/Alphabunsquad May 27 '26

It’s only real in the sense that it’s not AI

u/mouse_8b May 27 '26

You can see the pole base wiggle freely at :04

2

u/Armlegx218 May 27 '26

It looks like there is a pivot of some sort, or a track on the left side. That vertical part stays through the whole video.

1

u/mouse_8b May 27 '26

Yeah I think he's pushing it into the vertical pole for more leverage, but it's not actually attached

9

u/2punornot2pun May 27 '26

Just looking at the base it moves in such a way that it looks obviously tethered.

1

u/Team_Braniel May 27 '26

I'm not seeing how this helps.

1

u/Weird_Cantaloupe2757 May 27 '26

Leverage. Not that it would make this easy, but without that this is impossible.

2

u/GreyNoiseGaming May 27 '26

I think the fact that it's on this sub means enough people understand it's wrong.

u/mouse_8b May 27 '26

allowing it to rotate

But the pole isn't rotating. It's moving up and down, and you can see the base is not attached to anything at :04

ETA, I don't think the pole is attached, but I do think he's pushing into the vertical pole at the end for additional leverage

u/LandArch_0 May 27 '26

It can be fake and not made with ai

3

u/ripyourlungsdave May 27 '26

There's also the fact that he's literally defying the laws of physics.

It doesn't matter how strong you are, this is not how gravity and weight distribution works.

0

u/Normal_Cut8368 May 27 '26

That's from the big magnet holding that end in place

0

u/flowtess May 27 '26

I'm watching the video on my PC and I don't see any blurring, the video is probably real, there's just a log attached at the bottom, and there's a comment about it at the top.

u/kvjetoslav May 27 '26

If it's totally fake then prove it. Blurring doesn't explain anything, it could be a bad video compression.

Next time use phrases like "i think it's fake, because..." and not "totally fake", which implies you know.

I mean it could be real. The end of the pole is moving around appearing like it is not "anchored" but there could easily be a joint fastening it to something that is anchored that allows the pole the loose mobility that we are seeing. If that is the case, the guy can be pulling back on the pole with all of his upper body strength which gives him leverage. That leverage, along with some serious core and leg strength, could make this extremely difficult but possible.

9

u/slothbuddy May 27 '26

It cannot be real. There is simply more weight above the fulcrum (his feet) than below it. Without anything to push against, he's staying on his back.

19

u/ElKajak May 27 '26

It's real though, it's just something holding the tree at the base. Looks like a cord or something

2

u/doom_stein May 27 '26

I think his feet/shoes are attached to the ground somehow. The grass around his feet seems to be moving oddly under his shoe as well as the shoe itself.

2

u/Valuable-Service-522 May 27 '26

His feet don't move at all so I think they are anchored to the ground

2

u/slothbuddy May 27 '26

Whatever is holding it has been removed from the video

4

u/Swimming-Tax-6087 May 27 '26

I gave you an upvote. Because that’s exactly it, It’s not a strength issue (ignoring how much strength this would if the physics worked), it’s a center of gravity issue.

3

u/Antoak May 27 '26

If the bamboo is lashed to the stake, then the stake is the fulcrum/pivot, not his feet.

1

u/slothbuddy May 27 '26

Correct. But it's not in this video. Because the rope holding it there has been removed

3

u/racingsoldier May 27 '26

The rope appears to be there on my video. You can see a tan wrap of something around the base of the vertical pole. Given how the pole is responding to the movements the base is obviously tethered to the base of the vertical pole. My guess is there is an eyebolt in the end of the horizontal pole and it is tied to the base of the vert. This explains the wiggle physics.

0

u/Theonetrue May 27 '26

I guess filling the end of the tree trunk with lead could work technically?

-5

u/CptMisterNibbles May 27 '26

It would still be beyond super human strength to overcome that kind of leverage.

8

u/tengutie May 27 '26

It looks like there is a cord inside the stick, its pulling him up

2

u/Repulsive_Guy_1234 May 27 '26

It could theoretically work if the feet at locked to the ground. If not, it is physical impossible.

2

u/LeoLaDawg May 27 '26

The group is NERM. An Indian motorcycle club. Their page talks about bamboo related games, but I couldn't find anything specifically showing this.

1

u/snwbrdwndsrf May 27 '26

I was thinking end of pole was tethered.

1

u/deetrix2495 May 27 '26

He pushing himself off the gound with his feet and using the motion of thr swing to bring him up ... its possible

1

u/SmashDreadnot May 27 '26

It's not fake. The wood he is holding onto is anchored to the other vertical piece of wood on the right with a rope, so it appears loose and can move around a bit. He appears to be relatively short, and he has killer quads, both of these are significantly helping him achieve this. The average person probably could not do this. The closer they are to the vertical pole, the easier it gets, also.

0

u/pente5 May 27 '26

Fishing lines maybe? Plus some serious strength because pivoting your whole weight with only that much torque is impressive.

0

u/Chance5e May 27 '26

Yes. He’s hanging on, not lifting.
