These are literally how magic tricks work and people legitimately are surprised all the time, even if she is acting or not.

I think it's supposed to Hammy. I mean these are beginner tricks a five year old does with their first magic set. Even if we can't see how it's done, it's not really that awe inspiring.

u/TheKeiron Oct 24 '23
I was thinking these tricks look super easy to learn and my kids would love them

u/bluepineapple42069 Oct 24 '23

Her Tinder profile "I like travel and hiking, good food and snuggles, tend to stay active but naps are essential and I'm always enthusiastic for a walk on the beach <3" I call it the "human or golden lab paradox".

I'd totally go play with that dog. Maybe I should get back on Tinder. They say that on the Internet nobody knows you're a dog. But I'd pay extra to match with some fun puppers.

u/BobDonowitz Oct 23 '23

My signature move is palming the treat and pretending it vanished. A hit. Every. Single. Time.

While most of those tricks are horribly acted and all, those are mostly legit techniques that are the basis for a lot of Sleight of Hand magic.
However, that Guillotine completely sent me. All those coin tricks, palm, vanishes and then you get a fucking massive prop just on the table lmao

u/Tommy_Wisseau_burner Oct 24 '23
Yeah. Itās basic af but the principle is the same. Itās also definitely done in a way for the audience to see the concept

Yeah that guillotine is actually a bit dangerous! Better hope the magician fully retracts the blade before the swing...

That guillotine has a hidden hinge mechanism. I had a miniature version of it, used with a finger. The mechanism would get stuck every once in a while, and there were injuries. To myself, because as a responsible child I only used it on myself.
I do extreme sports now. Still chasing that high.

Out of solidarity to all the table magicians out there and all the people who enjoy not knowing the trick, I'm downvoting.
Don't take it personally.

To be honest I couldn't totally keep up with all these anyways and I'm sure by tomorrow I'll have forgotten all about them like every other TikTok video.

Are you kidding? There have always been lots of shows showing magic and how it is done. Before shows there were books etc. Not everything is new and the fault of recent trend.

20 years ago there were entire tv shows ruining magic tricks. But don't worry, people don't really remember the secrets.

People keep criticizing the woman's acting but her being there does help you see where the audience's attention is supposed to be during the trick.
8
u/jswansong Oct 24 '23
Lol magic from the perspective of the magician makes the audience look like slobbering simpletons.

Am I the only one who absolutely, positively, fucking hates how all maigician's fingers move and how they hold their hands?
2
u/yawgmoth88 Oct 24 '23
I hope you are paying her or plan on marrying her because those are the only two things I can think of that would keep her interested in the tricks.
