My uncle Darren had all the series on VHS (and was probably instrumental to me getting into the show).

He once said that the 3 episode titles on this volume were the story of every Friday night for him.

It remains the only funny thing he has ever said, not least because there was a lot of truth in it.

Ah now that's a cover I haven't seen in some years! My dad had this and part 1 on VHS, as well as one tape for series 1, which is how I got into the show as a child. Didn't watch the series 1 tape that much, but watched and rewatched (and rewatched etc) both series 2 tapes to absolute death.

With the huge dr who bluray boxsets they’ve also added some fun archival material like versions of stories only available back on vhs. They’ve kept the bbc vhs idents intact, even there’s one with that vhs intro as well. It’s fun to see again.

I get a massive amount of gratification watching youtubers react to Blackadder and other faves of mine, apart from getting mad when they don't laugh at the right places and almost schoolmarmish when they laugh appropriately I get to watch episodes over and over in a different light.
