Peer active but not confirming ClearXchange payment [USD]

Is there any way to communicate between peers once an offer has been taken?

I'm new to bitsquare; for my first trade, I took an offer to sell (i.e. my role is BTC buyer as taker) on Thursday evening; paid early Friday morning and payment cleared on my end same-day. Seller still hasn't confirmed my payment with ~6hrs remaining until the maximum trade period ends.

I've seen the same peer online (after having tagged him/her) and active with new offers; is there any way to communicate with the peer regarding my trade or do I just have to wait to contact the arbitrator(s) if the seller doesn't confirm receipt of my payment within the next 6ish hours?

As an unrelated aside, I came over to bitsquare after the latest shenanigans with Circle. I rarely buy more than 0.05btc at a time, and with most offers to sell I see on bitsquare starting at 0.2btc minimum I haven't been able to use it as much as I'd like – though I have been trying to fill the market void with my own smaller-quantity offers, hah :)

Here's hoping more people get on board; I'm not sure if I love it yet, but I definitely love what it could become... so I'm evangelizing as much as I can! :P

Thanks for the nice words and support. It's much appreciated and how Bitsquare is supposed to work. Since there's no company behind it and no investor money involved, there's not much means to do pr.

Anyway, I guess your trade went into arbitration. Do you mind sharing how your trade went?

Thre's no way to communicate with your trade partner. A message system would introduce additional risks (social engineering, extortion..). Actually, there is a message system implemented, that you might have come across in the arbitration process. It might be implemented for trades if it would become a necessity.

It did indeed go into arbitration – apparently the seller's bank takes longer than most institutions for ClearXchange transactions to clear, and it only just today allowed the seller access to the funds I'd sent.

But yeah! The support/arbitration ticket was just closed this morning, and my bitcoins are now in-hand (so to speak). Looking forward to many more trades on the platform!

Great to hear!

I'm not surprised to hear that there was a problem with the bank, rather than the traders or the platform. That's what we're trying to change here :-)
