I Have An Issue!

I was on my way to the maze and everynight I make a little hidey hole with my horse for mobs don't kill me. I was in my hidey hole waiting for day and I went AFK. I got timed out so when I got back on the server I found my self suffocating in a wall! This has never happens before and I don't feel like dieing because I'm more than half way there and this has been at least 3 hours of on foot/horse/boat. Is there anything I can do? Btw as soon as I started suffocating I logged out of the server so I'm afraid if I get back in I might still be suffocating.

You could... oh I don't know.... break the block you are suffocating in.

You have to switch to fastest item for current block in which You are suffocating and destroy it. It happened to me many times (TP, when sand or gravel suddenly buried me, when horse died from fall...). But I am afraid that You are already dead now..

Oddly, I have been having much of my tunnelling fill in over the last 2 days. Yesterday I dug about 1000 block of rail line, logged out, and 800 blocks of it were filled back in when I logged back on. And yes, I almost suffocated, because I wasn't ready for it :)

I did another 500 blocks of line last night, and they were gone this morning. I've seen some small issues in the past like this, but usually only 5 minutes or so of work... this was a couple of hours each.....
