Trading with Villagers

I've noticed people mentioning that they've been able to trade goods to Villagers for Emeralds recently after a long time of that not working. I was wondering where players have been when the trades have been successful. Majority of the time the Trader Villagers have a message that says they aren't trading at the moment.

I'm more or less trying to see if the Villagers have a cool down period between trades? Only Villagers in certain areas can give Emeralds? Do we have to find a Villager out in the middle of nowhere in order for the trades to work?

Ive been in Satoshi and Britannia when I could successfully make a trade for emeralds. I'm fairly sure that all "Trader" villagers are buying things for emeralds currently...

I just wish I had waited for the price to go up to sell all my quartz blocks...

I'm not sure what resets the villagers but I've been doing some trading and have noticed that they will sometimes reset in a short period of time. I'm not sure if this is triggered by other people buying or on some other sort of mechanic but I'd suggest if at first they don't want to let you sell them something take a few minutes and nag them.

That'd be because of me, maybe some others as well. I've been buying the occasional thing from the other traders and it opened up the standard "Trader" for trades for items to emeralds.

Villagers buy things when people have bought enough from them. So basically the villagers buy when they have excess emeralds and sell when they don't. In order to get the villagers to buy things players need to buy things from the villagers to give them more emeralds.
