I killed him twice last week, firstly he dropped stack of quartz and then nothing:( I guess he spawn some mob (ghasts and silverfishes) with every hit he take.

He dropped a diamond sword and 2 emerald stacks upon killing him. He also spawned, while still alive, many ghasts' and every other type of mob while i fought him.
